also known as Wedding Cake, Triangle Mints #23, Cake
Pink Cookies is considered a Canadian name for Wedding Cake from Seed Junky Genetics' Triangle Mints line; other versions trace back to Cherry Pie × GSC or Pink Kush.
The plant marketed in Canada as Pink Cookies originates from Southern California. Seed Junky Genetics selected it from their own Triangle Mints line and listed it as Triangle Mints #23. It became known under a third name: the Jungle Boys from Los Angeles called it Wedding Cake, because its scent recalls vanilla frosting and the resin has a noticeably glittery appearance. Under the name Pink Cookies, however, crosses of entirely different ancestry are also sold.
Seed Junky Genetics traces back to breeder JBeezy (Anthony Hart) and, according to one strain description, started in a garage in the 2000s. Triangle Mints crosses Triangle Kush with Animal Mints, which itself comes from the Cookies family via Animal Cookies and SinMint Cookies. Several descriptions classify the selection as predominantly indica, while another lists Pink Cookies as a balanced hybrid.
Also common is the claim that Pink Cookies is a cross of Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies. According to one account, JBeezy himself publicly clarified that Wedding Cake originated from Triangle Mints. Seed lines from Cherry Pie × GSC do exist, but they do not establish a second origin for selection #23. Ol'Dirty Greenthumb, in turn, crossed Canuk Cookies with Pink Kush for their own Pink Cookies; the same parent combination is listed for a medical flower strain of the same name. One producer also lists an in-house bred Pink Cookies said to derive from a backcross of Sunset Sherbet.
As Wedding Cake, the selection reportedly won the title Best Hybrid at the SoCal High Times Medical Cannabis Cup in 2018, according to a magazine report. Flowers submitted under this name by various growers placed at the Emerald Cup and the Karma Cup in 2018 and 2019, taking 1st place in the Hybrid category at the Karma Cup in 2019, as well as 3rd place in the Bio category at the Highlife Cup in 2019.
Vanilla appears repeatedly in descriptions of the Wedding Cake line, usually layered over earthy pepper. There is also a tangy-sweet note, a hint of gas and citrus once the buds are broken open. Entries under the name Pink Cookies emphasize sweet earth and pepper, with one adding caramel and fresh cherry. One consumption report noted a gassy smell alongside a sweet, cookie-like taste. Ol'Dirty Greenthumb describes their own version as Kush earth with sweet vanilla and a floral finish, while Seeds66 describes the autoflowering version as vanilla with pineapple and lemon. Strain descriptions name caryophyllene and limonene as the leading terpenes, followed by humulene or myrcene depending on the source.
Experience reports differ. Some describe Pink Cookies as strongly relaxing to sedating, while others experienced the strain as cheerful, creative and focused, at times giggly. Descriptions of the Wedding Cake line depict a cerebral, uplifting onset that gradually settles into heavier physical relaxation. Dry mouth, dry eyes, headache and nervousness are listed as unwanted side effects; in one report the strain triggered tension.
Published figures vary considerably and come from strain descriptions and product listings. One description under the name Pink Cookies states 17 to 24 % THC, another 20 % THC and 1 % CBG. For Wedding Cake, 23 to 25 % THC is given. Seeds66 states 20 to 24 % for Pink Cookies Auto, while the medical flower strain with Pink Kush ancestry is declared at 27 % THC and less than 1 % CBD.
For the Wedding Cake line, strain descriptions give a flowering time of 7 to 9 or 8 to 9 weeks respectively; outdoors it is ready for harvest in September or October. The plants stay compact and bushy and form dense buds. One description states 350 to 500 g/m² indoors and names a warm, dry, Mediterranean-type climate as favorable. Descriptions rate the difficulty level as moderate to advanced.
