For Blue Monster, it combined G13, Blueberry, Northern Lights #5, and a Mexican landrace. Seeds from other companies now also carry the name, in some cases with the same parent combination, in other cases with an entirely different lineage.

Genetics and Origin:

The four-way cross of G13, Blueberry, Northern Lights #5, and a Mexican landrace is attributed to the Goldenseed line in several descriptions. One description differs and lists Motta and Mejicanna alongside G13, Blueberry, and Northern Lights #5, without mentioning the landrace. The ratio is given as 80 % indica to 20 % sativa.

As a parent, Blue Monster appears in Mataro Blue by Kannabia, a cross with Mazar-i-Sharif and Black Domina. According to Kannabia, Blue Monster contributes yield strength and a bluish hue there; which version the breeder used is not specified in its description.

Aroma and Flavor:

Goldenseed assigns notes of berries and tropical fruit, tracing them to Blueberry and G13. New420Guy Seeds' description places fresh blueberry in the foreground, underlaid with a harsh, chemical sharpness reminiscent of ammonia; when broken apart, the buds release a pungent diesel smell. Other strain descriptions additionally mention earthy, spicy, and sweet notes, as well as a sour and a nutty side in flavor.
