Sour Diesel x Cherry Pie; according to the strain description only available as a clone, no seeds. Outdoor harvest early October, warm, semi-humid climate preferred. Values come from a strain database, not from a breeder page.
Laughing Gas is a sativa-dominant cross of Sour Diesel and Cherry Pie from TKO Reserve in Oregon. Other breeders list genetically different strains under the same name.
As a clone cultivar with 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, as an autoflower with 8 to 10 weeks from germination to harvest, or as a regular seed line with around 63 days of flowering: several genetically different plants stand in the grow room under the name Laughing Gas. The best-documented one is the cross of Sour Diesel and Cherry Pie by TKO Reserve from the US state of Oregon, a sativa-dominant hybrid with a strong fuel smell.
According to one strain description, the TKO Reserve line is only in circulation as a clone; no seeds exist. The same description gives 8 to 9 weeks of flowering indoors, an outdoor harvest in early October and a preference for warm, moderately humid conditions.
More detail is available on the autoflowering version from Mephisto Genetics. The breeder lists it as ILL#63 in its Illuminauto series, a run of new crosses that serves as a testing ground for the main catalog. The strain description rates the yield as high and names medium height with strong lateral branching. LST and gentle training in the early phase are recommended, as is supporting the colas; heavy stress late in the cycle should be avoided. In cool temperatures, purple tones can appear toward the end of flowering.
TKO Reserve crossed Sour Diesel with Cherry Pie. Flowers of this line are also grown outside Oregon: a producer from Oklahoma lists them with an explicit reference to TKO Reserve. The attribution of the flowers sold under the Cookies label is inconsistent. One user report likewise gives Sour Diesel and Cherry Pie for them, while a trade article attributes to Cookies a joint strain with Compound Genetics made from Cherry Pie and Jet Fuel Gelato with 8 to 9 weeks of flowering.
For the TKO Reserve line, the sources describe a strong fuel smell with grass, pine and a restrained sweetness; elsewhere tangerine and skunk are added. In flavor, diesel, pine, lemon and pepper are named, along with an ammonia-like note. The Treeology Genetics version, by contrast, is described with kush, pepper and earth. The producer from Oklahoma lists beta-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, alpha-bisabolol, beta-myrcene, alpha-humulene and nerolidol as the main terpenes of its flowers, with a total terpene content of 1.8 to 2.2 %. One strain description differs, naming myrcene as the dominant terpene ahead of caryophyllene and pinene.
User reports describe the effects as talkative and silly, with an energizing side; creativity, good mood and focus are added. Several describe a head high that later gives way to physical relaxation. Side effects named are dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness. Individual reports also mention paranoia, racing thoughts, nausea or tiredness, in some cases explicitly after larger amounts.
Strain descriptions give 19 % and 22 % THC, one of them additionally 1 % CBG. The producer from Oklahoma reports 18.7 to 20.4 % THC for its flowers without naming a laboratory; such values vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype. A user report on flowers under the Cookies label gives 27 % THC, likewise without lab information.
On flavor, the reports largely agree: diesel and gas, plus earthy, sweet and peppery notes, occasionally pine and lemon. Accounts diverge on the appearance of the flowers, which ranges from dense and chunky to large and airy with orange hairs and dark green-purple patches. Not all consumers found the name confirmed: one report misses the silly effect, another criticizes the short duration, and the diesel taste and a scratchy throat meet occasional rejection.
