Orange Valley OG

According to strain descriptions, the aroma of Orange Valley OG combines citrus, pine and tea. Consumers also report oranges and tangelos, sweetness, earthy tones, a hint of coffee and a light fuel smell in the background. The hybrid comes from Relentless Genetics, a breeder from Colorado, and is a cross of 818 Pure SFV OG and Agent Orange.

Aroma and Flavor:

Beyond the citrus fruit, the accounts differ. One strain description emphasizes earthy citrus notes with sour herbs and a pungent skunk overtone; in flavor, this continues as sweet-and-sour and herbal, with a slightly skunky aftertaste on the exhale. In one user report, clove and pine join the sweet citrus note, in another coffee and earth.

As the dominant terpene, one strain description based on lab tests of commercial products names caryophyllene, accompanied by limonene and humulene.

Genetics and Origin:

818 Pure SFV OG goes back to the SFV cut of OG Kush. By its own account, Relentless Genetics reversed this clone and pollinated it with itself, which produced S1 seeds. Whether Orange Valley OG arose from this S1 line or directly from the clone is not stated consistently in the published pedigrees. Agent Orange, the second parent, is attributed to MzJill Genetics and goes back to Orange Velvet and Jack the Ripper. One strain description classifies the result as a balanced hybrid with 50 % of each, indica and sativa.

As a parent, the strain is recorded in 17 direct crosses. Exotic Genetix combined it with Cookies and Cream to make Orange Cream, with Lime Skunk to make Citrique and with The Cube to make Meltdown and Constantine; for True SFV, the breeder backcrossed it to 818 Pure SFV OG. Lemon Drop Mash and Orange Valley Cookies come from Myers Creek Cannabis Seeds, and Orange Tree, a cross with 24K Gold, also traces back to Orange Valley OG.

Effects:

User reports speak of a cheerful, talkative mood, of giggling, euphoria and relaxation; one report also highlights focus. One of the consumers describes the effect as felt mainly in the head, relaxing and at the same time clear, without strong sedation. Another classes the strain as a balanced hybrid with moderately strong effects.

One strain description paints a different picture, speaking of a strong effect on head and body that lasts a long time. Dry eyes were named as an unwanted side effect in one report.

THC and CBD Content:

Two strain descriptions give the THC content as 20 % and 22 % respectively, the second presenting its value as an average. Only the first states the CBD content, at 0 %.

Cultivation:

Relentless Genetics offers Orange Valley OG exclusively as regular seeds; according to strain information, the plant can be grown indoors and outdoors. Dried flowers are described as large and forest green, with many fine orange pistils and a thick, amber-shimmering trichome layer.
