Originally spread only as a cutting (clone-only), from about 2011 according to strain descriptions. According to Sherbinski's own account, Burmese pollen (from Jigga) on a Larry OG “Ish Cut”. The attribution is inconsistent: strain descriptions also name the Cookie Fam.
Pink Panties
Pink Panties is an indica-leaning Kush cross from the circle of Sherbinski and the Cookie Fam in San Francisco, known as a parent of Sunset Sherbet.
A Larry OG in the so-called Ish Cut, which he owned himself, pollinated with pollen from a Burmese belonging to Jigga: this is how the breeder Sherbinski of San Francisco describes the origin of Pink Panties. According to strain descriptions, he grew the plant from about 2011 onward within the circle of the Cookie Fam, and at first it spread only through cuttings. It became known mainly as a parent of Sunset Sherbet.
Genetics and Origin:
Strain descriptions give a different lineage: Burmese Kush crossed with Florida Kush, in some cases more precisely a backcross of Florida Kush. One of them also mentions an alternative reading, in which an OG Kush mother was crossed with Burmese Blackberry Kush. The attribution is likewise inconsistent. Besides Sherbinski, the Cookie Fam is named, the group behind Girl Scout Cookies. Strain descriptions put the indica share at 70 % and the sativa share at 30 %.
A male seedling of Pink Panties became important for breeding history. By Sherbinski's own account, he placed it in a flowering room with Cookies plants, which he pollinated; Sunset Sherbet came from these seeds, a cross of a female Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties as the father plant. One strain description, by contrast, calls Pink Panties the mother of Sunset Sherbet. Acai Berry Gelato and Sherbet Cake are listed as further offspring.
Aroma and Flavor:
The descriptions center on citrus and flowers: tart grapefruit, plus floral notes for which rose and lavender are named. Berry, earthy tones, sweetness and an undertone of gasoline also appear, with vanilla mainly in the flavor. A detailed user report on a Canadian batch noted sweet strawberry on the inhale and a sour, chemical finish, but found the smell in the jar weaker than the look of the buds suggested.
Effects:
User reports describe euphoria in the head at first, which turns into relaxation of the body. Several users mention a sexually arousing effect, others good mood, giggling, talkativeness or tingling. How heavy the strain feels is reported differently. Some report sleepiness and a feeling of being tied to the couch, others creativity and a state in which they stay able to act. The onset is also described as fast at times and slow at others. Side effects include dry mouth and dry eyes, occasionally headache.
THC and CBD Content:
Strain descriptions give 17 to 25 % THC and a CBD content below 1 %. The figure for the seed version from Apothecary Genetics is higher, at 27 to 32 % THC.
Lab Results:
One single measurement is publicly available, published by a US supplier of hemp flower for a batch of this strain, without naming the lab. It shows 19.022 % THCA and 0.266 % delta-9-THC. Terpenes add up to 1.876 %, led by beta-caryophyllene, followed by linalool, alpha-humulene and limonene. Strain descriptions and producer information also put caryophyllene at the top, there with myrcene and limonene in the following places.
Versions from Different Breeders:
Apothecary Genetics released seeds with the same stated lineage of Burmese Kush and Florida Kush, exclusively as regular seeds. For this version, 60 to 70 days of flowering are given, indoor and outdoor cultivation, and a distinct lemon aroma on a sweet, earthy base; individual phenotypes turn purple. Under the same name, Purple Caper Seeds lists a genetically different strain from Blackberry Kush and a cross of Fire OG with True OG.
Cultivation:
Looking back, Sherbinski described the indoor yield as modest but noted that no additional carbon dioxide was used at the time. Strain descriptions put the flowering time at 8 to 9 weeks; they rate the difficulty as medium in some cases and high in others. The buds are considered medium-sized and dense to medium-dense, with pale orange and bright pink pistils. Trichome coverage can look pink in suitable light. A user report describes heavily frosted buds in shades from dark green through plum to almost black.

Euphoria in the head that turns into physical relaxation; repeatedly a sexually arousing effect, good mood, talkativeness and tingling. Aroma floral and citrusy, sometimes with a gasoline note. Side effects: dry mouth and dry eyes.
Some reports describe sleepiness and a strong sense of heaviness in bed, others creativity and a state in which they remain able to act (including when vaporizing).
