Yuzu Purple is a cross of Gelato #33 and Lemon & Lime from Archive Seed Bank, which the breeder describes with purple flowers and an orange-citrus flavor.

Research as of 11/02/2026

High yields, dark purple flowers and a flowering time said to be shorter than that of common Tangie hybrids: this is how Archive Seed Bank describes the growing traits of its own strain Yuzu Purple. The cross of Gelato #33 and a line listed as Lemon & Lime is documented only as regular seed; according to the available information, the breeder never offered feminized seeds.

Cultivation:

For indoor cultivation, strain descriptions of the Archive Seed Bank version give a flowering time of about 67 days. The breeder speaks of heavy yields and a dark purple coloring of the flowers, which is said to have appeared in the offspring of the cross.

In other strain descriptions, the dried flowers are portrayed as compact and strikingly large, resembling bunches of grapes in shape, mint green with a purple tinge and threaded with thin orange pistils, and covered with fine golden-white trichomes. Another description highlights the purple and orange side by side on the buds.

Genetics and Origin:

The parentage Gelato #33 × Lemon & Lime appears in several strain descriptions; where the Lemon & Lime line comes from and who bred it is left open there. Archive Seed Bank sees the cross as evidence of why Gelato 33 in particular is so sought after as a cross partner among the Gelato variants. Classification is inconsistent: one description lists Yuzu Purple as predominantly sativa-leaning, another as a balanced hybrid with 50 % indica and 50 % sativa.

Sin City Seeds crossed the strain, referred to there as Purple Yuzu, with its in-house Blue Power; the result was Blue Zu.

Aroma and Flavor:

The breeder places the flavor between lemon peel with the tart undertone of Gelato and crushed orange candies, topped by a candy-like sweetness that the breeder compares to Zkittlez. Archive Seed Bank calls the orange note umami-like and sets it apart from the orange aromas of Tangie crosses. Other strain descriptions additionally mention lavender and herbs, earthy and floral hints and a sour note, along with grape and berries. A user report also mentions grape. Strain descriptions give myrcene as the dominant terpene, followed by caryophyllene and limonene.

THC Content:

One strain description gives the THC content as 14 to 24 %.

Effects:

Archive Seed Bank describes the effect as sedating without making one sluggish. The 8 user reports evaluated set other emphases: they mainly mention elevated mood, euphoria, focus and drive, and a few also giggle fits and creative impulses. Relaxation appears in 2 reports, one of which describes the head as clear in the process. How far the impressions diverge is already shown by how consumers classify the strain: one report considers it sativa-leaning, another an indica. Another strain description also notes that accounts range from sleep-inducing to stimulating.

Dry mouth is mentioned as a side effect in 2 reports.
