Platinum Haze descriptions converge on much the same impression: alert drive, talkativeness, a clear head rather than heaviness. Several reports describe a delayed onset that builds over a few minutes and then lasts for a long time. Strain descriptions trace the cross to Platinum Champagne and Silver Haze at a ratio of 80 to 20 on the sativa side.
Twelve experience reports were reviewed. Energy, creativity and focus run through the accounts as a consensus, along with an uplifted mood. Some reports additionally describe a physically calm component, while others experience the effect as purely cerebral and note that the energy holds without a drop-off and keeps them awake in the evening. A markedly increased urge to talk recurs throughout. Reported side effects include dry mouth, dry and red eyes, and anxiety.
Platinum Champagne, one parent, is classified as a pure sativa and is said to have originated in the San Diego area; its smell is described as fruity. The second parent, Silver Haze, traces back to Sensi Seeds. Accounts of its lineage diverge: one strain description names Silver Pearl and Haze, another names Skunk #1, Northern Lights #5 and Haze. The Haze share explains the sativa-leaning classification, even though one description simply lists the strain as a hybrid without giving a ratio.
The smell descriptions stay on the sweet side. Vanilla, floral notes and an overall sweetness stand out, joined by candy and fruit over a strong, pungent Haze note. The flavor repeats vanilla, flower and sweetness. Myrcene is named as the dominant terpene, followed by caryophyllene and limonene.
Strain descriptions list 15 to 22 % THC. One gives 22 % as a single value along with 0 % CBD, another additionally lists 1 % CBN. Such figures vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype.
A genetically different strain runs under a similar name: Magnum Platinum Haze from Delta 9 Labs, a feminized cross of an S5 Haze mother and a reversed Chemdawg. Delta 9 Labs states 80 % sativa and 20 % indica, a flowering time of 63 to 77 days and an indoor yield of 500 to 600 g/m². Smell and flavor are described there as pine-like with woody undertones, clearly different from Platinum Haze.
