Pink Candy Kush

A quick, head-centered onset followed after a delay by physical relaxation: this is the course described in several user reports on Pink Candy Kush, a sativa-dominant cross of Stinky Pinky and Cotton Candy from New420Guy Seeds. The reports do not fully agree, however. Alongside accounts of drive, good mood and a desire for creative work, one report says the strain made the user sleepy after about 1 hour despite its high sativa share, and another speaks of slight nervousness in public after larger amounts.

Genetics and Origin:

Stinky Pinky and Cotton Candy are consistently named as parents, but the accounts differ on how the cross was built. Several strain descriptions list a simple cross of the two lines. A pedigree overview, by contrast, records a backcross, (Stinky Pinky × Cotton Candy) × Cotton Candy, and assigns Stinky Pinky to the British Columbia Seed Company and Cotton Candy to Delicious Seeds; the assignment of Stinky Pinky is explicitly marked there as only probable. New420Guy Seeds puts the ratio at 80 % sativa and 20 % indica. Pink Candy and Pink Gummy are listed as further names.

Other breeders have used the strain further. Cannafari crossed it with a backcross of Black Russian for Purpinkly. Green House Seeds used it under the name Pink Candy for Super Lemon Haze x Pink Candy, by its own account part of a then-new breeding line based on Super Lemon Haze. The breeder's description highlights the intense cotton candy scent of the New420Guy parent plant.

Aroma and Flavor:

The breeder limits itself to noting a sweet, candy-like scent. Other strain descriptions portray a fruity aroma with a bubblegum note that turns more sour once the flowers are broken apart. In flavor, sweetness and sourness meet, accompanied by citrus hints and sour lemon; one description compares it to pink lemonade, and blueberry, pineapple and menthol also appear. User reports speak of a floral-sweet smell with a minty undertone and a smooth, slightly sweet smoke.

Effects:

New420Guy Seeds describes an uplifting cerebral state that provokes thought and lasts a few hours. The user reports confirm the fast onset and mention euphoria and focus, along with creative impulses; a few mention giggling and heightened arousal. The physical relaxation comes later and is described partly as creeping, partly as a calm wind-down in the evening.

Accompanying effects named are dry mouth, dry eyes and headache, although one report attributed the user's own slight headache more to tiredness from work. Another considers the strain too strong for novice users and describes a feeling of being unable to move after too large amounts.

THC and CBD Content:

The available values come from strain descriptions, not from published lab analyses. One description gives 15 to 23 % THC and 1 % CBD, another names a THC value within that range as well as 1 % CBG. The latter lists myrcene as the predominant terpene, followed by pinene and ocimene.

Cultivation:

The cultivation data come from New420Guy Seeds. According to them, the plant grows in the style of a sativa, reaches an average height of about 5 feet and needs 9 to 10 weeks of flowering. According to the breeder, topping several times early in the growth phase makes it very bushy. It is intended for indoor and outdoor cultivation and is listed as feminized seed.

In the mature flowers, the descriptions emphasize above all the colors: mint-green, spade-shaped buds with dark orange hairs and purple undertones, covered in a dense trichome layer with a pink sheen.
