Lemon Tangie is a sativa-leaning cross of SFV OG and Tangie attributed to Calyx Gardens in California; Massive Seeds lists a strain of the same name.

Research as of 10/25/2026

In the strain descriptions reviewed, the Californian breeder brand Calyx Gardens is named as the origin of Lemon Tangie, a cross of SFV OG and Tangie. One of them words this attribution cautiously, however. A second strain with a different lineage exists under the same name; it goes back to Massive Seeds and is described in one description as the older of the two versions.

Genetics and Origin:

In its brand profile, the business appears as Calyx Garden and describes its program as selection over many years, aimed at high cannabinoid contents and distinct terpene profiles; Lemon Tangie is not listed there separately. The cross itself is regarded as a sativa-leaning hybrid, and one description puts the ratio at 70 % sativa to 30 % indica.

Aroma and Flavor:

Lemon dominates the descriptions of scent and taste, accompanied by general citrus notes. Two sources add pine and a woody undertone, and floral touches reminiscent of citrus blossom appear in several descriptions. Others stress a sour or earthy side, and user reports also describe the taste as sweet.

The terpene profile is not analytically documented, and the information is contradictory. One description names myrcene as the leading terpene ahead of pinene and limonene, while another puts caryophyllene first, followed by myrcene, limonene, pinene and humulene.

Effects:

The reports centre on a stimulating, euphoric effect with an elevated mood. Also mentioned are a tingling sensation in the body, creativity, concentration, talkativeness and silliness. Some users find the strain relaxing at the same time; one report says the effect fades without subsequent tiredness. One strain description differs markedly, assigning it sedating, drowsiness-inducing effects.

Reported side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness, and in one description also paranoia. One report points out that the eyes visibly give away consumption.

THC Content:

For the Calyx Gardens line, strain descriptions give THC contents between 13 and 19 %. These are figures from such descriptions, not reported laboratory measurements.

Versions from Different Breeders:

The Lemon Tangie from Massive Seeds is based on Lemon Tree and a Tangie line, but which one is disputed: one strain description names Tropical Tangie, while the product details for the seeds name Tropic of Tangie and list the strain as Lemon Tangie Tree. Neither name appears in an overview of the Massive Seeds strains.

For the regular seeds of this version, a flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks, 300 to 420 g/m² indoors and 350 to 500 g per plant outdoors are stated, along with 18 to 22 % THC and a sativa share of 70 %. All values come from a single product description and do not apply to the Calyx Gardens line.

Community Experiences:

The reports repeatedly highlight scent and taste in a positive light, and one calls Lemon Tangie a favorite strain. On strength, impressions differ. Alongside accounts of a distinct, stimulating effect stands a warning that consumers with high tolerance would feel little, and another report rates the result as unremarkable on the whole.
