also known as Tangielope
Tangilope is a cross of Tangie and Chocolope attributed to DNA Genetics; regular lines are listed by Crockett Family Farms and Quentin Terpentino Genetics.
Tangie and Chocolope are the parents of Tangilope, a cross that several strain descriptions attribute to DNA Genetics; one of them also mentions Crockett Family Farms. The feminized version from DNA Genetics took 1st place in the Best Cannabis category at the Santa Cruz Cup 2014. According to the breeder, the genetics are 90 % sativa and 10 % indica.
DNA Genetics and Crockett Family Farms have belonged together since August 2019. At that time DNA Genetics, founded in Amsterdam in 2004 by Don Morris and Aaron Yarkoni, took over the family business that Tangie comes from. Crockett Family Farms lists the cross of Chocolope and Tangie under the spelling Tangielope.
As a parent, Tangilope is documented in 2 strains: Angie from G2G Genetix came from Tangilope and TWANG, Georgia Peach from Crockett Family Farms from Tangilope and Chocolope Kush.
3 lines carry the name, and all trace back to Chocolope and Tangie. DNA Genetics offers Tangilope exclusively as feminized seeds, states 9 weeks of flowering and an indoor yield of 450 to 500 g/m², and specifies the strain for indoor and outdoor cultivation.
The Tangielope from Crockett Family Farms exists only as regular seeds. Its description contradicts itself on flowering time: in one place it says 49 to 56 days, elsewhere 9 weeks. The breeder puts the THC content of this version at 20 to 24 %.
Quentin Terpentino Genetics explicitly calls its own Tangilope a homage to DNA Genetics. For this line, selected Tangielope plants were crossed with one another; the breeder gives the flowering time of the regular seeds as about 60 days. The breeder distinguishes 2 phenotypes, one smelling of sweet strawberries with a touch of haze on the finish and one very sweet with a raspberry note.
One strain description rates Tangilope as easy to grow, with medium height and above-average yield. One consumer describes the buds as moderately dense.
Tangerine and orange characterize the descriptions, underlaid by chocolate. Strain descriptions add tropical fruit, lemon, grapefruit and spice; user reports add mango, fresh coffee, earthy tones and a creamy note reminiscent of sour cream.
Among the terpenes, limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene recur in several sources, though in varying order. One strain description cites an analysis without naming the lab, according to which limonene at 2.671 mg/g leads β-caryophyllene at 0.886 mg/g and β-myrcene at 0.746 mg/g. One producer names limonene, ocimene and myrcene as the leading terpenes for its product.
The figures diverge widely. 2 producers report 14 and 16.3 % THC for their flowers, the first also 0 % CBD. One strain description sets the value markedly higher at 24 to 28 % THC. For a batch sold as THCA hemp flower, the supplier states 28.43 % THCA, 0.26 % delta-9-THC and 2.6 % total terpenes without naming the lab; the leading terpenes listed for this batch are myrcene, caryophyllene and linalool.
User reports describe an uplifting, mood-enhancing effect with euphoria, creativity and concentration, along with cheerfulness and talkativeness. In 2 reports it is emphasized that the energy lasts for hours and ends without an abrupt comedown; another links the head effect with physical relaxation. One grower describes it as long-lasting and psychedelic.
Dry mouth, dizziness, anxiety and paranoia are named as side effects, and one report also mentions mild restlessness. Not every report fits the picture: one consumer found the strain heavy for a sativa and slightly sedating, and noticed throat irritation with one batch.
