Cracker Jack crosses Green Crack with Jack Herer, originates in California and won a Cannabis Cup in the sativa category; reports describe a stimulating effect.

Research as of 11/05/2026

In user reports, Cracker Jack is repeatedly measured against its two parent strains, Green Crack and Jack Herer. One consumer finds the flavor closer to Green Crack, another considers the strain tastier than Jack Herer, and a third was disappointed in comparison with Green Crack. The cross is attributed to Tree Top Collective in California; in the sativa category of a High Times Cannabis Cup it took 1st place.

Effects:

The reports center on a stimulating effect. Consumers describe energy and drive, creativity and focus, along with euphoria, talkativeness and, in some cases, giddiness. Several assign the strain to daytime, and one report highlights the fast onset. A consumer who tried a THC extract in a pen names 30 to 45 minutes of clear effects and an uplifted mood lasting about 1.5 hours.

Diverging from this, one consumer became tired instead of alert, another describes anxiousness and scattered thoughts after initial focus, and a third a dazed feeling. Side effects named include dry mouth and dry eyes, as well as paranoia, dizziness of a few minutes and, in one case, severe headaches. Several reports highlight the strength; one mentions that larger amounts can turn into heavy sluggishness.

Genetics and Origin:

The strain descriptions agree on the parents Green Crack and Jack Herer. Several name Tree Top Collective in California as the breeder, and one of them lists the strain under the name Cracked Out Jack with Cracker Jack as an alias. The classification remains inconsistent: it ranges from sativa through sativa-dominant hybrid to a balanced hybrid with 50 % sativa and 50 % indica.

Cracker Jack won 1st place in the sativa competition of a High Times Medical Cannabis Cup in California. The year is not recorded consistently: the lab SC Labs assigns the win to the event of 22 and 23 June 2013, while a winners list places it at the San Francisco Cannabis Cup 2014.

Aroma and Flavor:

Strain descriptions combine sweet and floral notes with citrus, herbs, spice and wood. Named individually are lemon and lime, earthy tones and pine, and in one case also butter. The user reports range from earthy and minty with some spice, through woody with a lemon undertone, to freshly washed laundry; one consumer was reminded of pine cleaner. As the dominant terpene, strain descriptions give terpinolene, followed by caryophyllene, with ocimene or humulene in third place depending on the source.

THC and CBD Content:

The THC figures from strain descriptions lie between 19.8 and 20.51 %, the CBD figures between 0.1 and 0.17 %. For CBG, 1 % is given.

Cultivation:

One strain description gives 56 to 63 days of flowering, describes medium-height plants and high yields under good conditions; outdoor cultivation is said to be the best fit. Another rates the strain as easy to grow, considers it suitable for indoor and outdoor, attributes resistance to mold and powdery mildew to it and names a dry, sunny climate as preferred. The flowers are described once as dense and dark olive green, covered in resin with strong golden hairs, elsewhere as light green with orange hairs.

Versions from Different Breeders:

A strain with different parentage was released by Hyp3rids in 2022 under the spelling Crackerjack for the breeder's No.2 Collection, crossed from Sannie's Jack, a heirloom Jack Herer line in the F9 generation, and the strain No.2. One strain description lists the Hyp3rids version as predominantly sativa-leaning, with around 63 days of flowering, exclusively as regular seeds and with 21 % THC and 1 % CBD; it is said to be suitable for indoor, outdoor and greenhouse. In the breeder's text, large main shoots and strong resin production are in the foreground, and Sea of Green and SCROG are named as cultivation methods.
