For Jack Haze, 3 different pedigrees are in circulation, and 2 of them come from the Canadian producer 7ACRES itself. The brand from Kincardine, Ontario, says it found the sativa-leaning cultivar in a large-scale selection program meant to produce a new sativa expression. The deciding factor for the chosen phenotype was that sweet Haze notes and the spicy aroma of Jack Herer meet in it.
Genetics and Origin:
On its pages for the flower, 7ACRES lists the lineage as White Widow × Haze. For a live resin hash made from Jack Haze, however, the same brand gives Super Silver Haze × Critical Jack. Other strain descriptions and 2 reviews from 2019 and 2020 give Jack Herer × Super Silver Haze. A review published in 2024 notes that the producer has not officially published the parent lines. Which statement is correct cannot be decided from the sources.
According to one strain description, seeds and cuttings are not available. 7ACRES has nonetheless used the strain as a parent: according to a 2025 statement from the parent company Canopy Growth, Ultra Jack derives from a cross of Ultra Sour with Jack Haze.
Aroma and Flavor:
Terpinolene is listed first in the 7ACRES terpene list, followed by myrcene, ocimene, beta-pinene and beta-caryophyllene. Another strain description puts caryophyllene and pinene after terpinolene. The producer describes the scent as a mix of citrus, pine and spice with a sweetish touch, and on one product page also as earthy.
Reviews pick up the citrus direction and add their own accents: one names grapefruit, another a sweet floral smell with lime, a third intense sweet citrus notes with pine, mint, pepper and some diesel. In terms of flavor, this report describes pine on the inhale and a sweet lemon aftertaste. A user rating mentions mint, peach-mango and diesel. Clearly deviating, one strain description names tobacco, flowers and rose, another musty soil, pine and spices.
Effects:
The user reports describe a head-focused, stimulating effect. Named are energy, elevated mood, focus, talkativeness, giddiness, euphoria and creativity. A 2019 review describes a fast onset with a clear head and focus that then intensifies and fades gently after more than 2 hours. Another places the peak at about 15 minutes and the total duration at roughly 90 minutes; the effect is said to be uplifting and relaxing at the same time, without causing sluggishness.
Not all reports stay with this picture. Several user ratings describe fatigue once the stimulating phase subsides after a few hours; one of them describes the strain overall as relaxing and making one drowsy. As side effects, one report mentions dry eyes. Strain descriptions also list dry mouth, dizziness, anxiety and paranoid thoughts, one of them mainly at higher doses.
THC and CBD Content:
7ACRES states 17 to 23 % THC for the flower. For CBD, the producer's figures differ: the brand's product page gives 0 to 0.1 %, other product information 0 to 1 %. One strain description arrives at 14 % THC and no CBD. A 2019 review notes a THC value of 20.56 % printed on the packaging for the sampled batch, a single data point.
Community Experiences:
Observations on the appearance of the dried flowers diverge. A 2020 review describes loose buds of decent size, a strain description sage-green, fluffy flowers that narrow toward the tip. The 2024 report, by contrast, describes light green, dense flowers of small to medium size with plentiful trichomes and dark orange to gray pistils.
Cultivation:
The available cultivation details concern the producer's own crop; the producer's site gives Tiverton, Ontario as the growing location. The plants grow there in coco coir under daylight with supplemental lighting, where one product page speaks of a hybrid greenhouse with HID lamps, the producer's site of LED. After harvest, the flowers are hang-dried, machine-trimmed and finished by hand.
