Super Jack

Jack Herer appears in every pedigree given for Super Jack, but sources disagree on the second parent. Strain descriptions and several breeders name Super Silver Haze, and the strain accordingly also circulates under the names Super Jack Herer and Super Silver Jack. Southseeds, by contrast, crosses Jack Herer with Silver Skunk from its own range for its version. Who first made the cross is not documented.

Genetics and Origin:

Super Jack is classed as a sativa, in one description as a pure sativa; another places its origin in the USA. The product description of the Southseeds version contradicts itself, calling the plant mostly sativa in one place and an indica-dominant hybrid in another.

The Vault Seed Bank lists Super Jack with the suffix J1 and crossed it with a male of Hell Face on Fire to make Jacks Bells. Super Jack 047 from Élite Seeds shares only the name: there the breeder combines Jack Elite with AK47 and traces the Jack line back to a Jack Herer from 1999.

Aroma and Flavor:

Sweet and spicy with a buttery note, plus earth, herbs and skunk: this is how strain descriptions summarize the aroma, and the flavor is said to turn sweeter on the exhale. User reports add fruit with a chemical undertone, citrus, pine and pepper, and in isolated cases an ammonia note. Southseeds describes its version as lightly peppery lemon, skunk and a hint of Haze.

Compilations of lab analyses of commercially traded products list terpinolene as the dominant terpene. One then names caryophyllene and pinene, another phellandrene, caryophyllene and ocimene; it gives a mean of 0.69 % for terpinolene.

THC and CBD Content:

Strain descriptions give 18 to 24 % THC, and one also lists 1 % CBG. Crop King Seeds states 12 to 24 % THC for its version, while 20 % THC and 2 % CBD are given for the Dutchman Seeds version.

Effects:

Reports describe a fast-onset, stimulating effect with a clear head. Concentration, drive, talkativeness, creativity and elevated mood are mentioned repeatedly, and some users also describe tingling or food cravings. As side effects, the reports mention dry mouth and dry eyes, and restlessness at higher doses; some felt tired as the effect wore off. One strain description additionally lists dizziness.

Cultivation:

Without reference to a particular breeder, strain descriptions give a flowering time of 9 to 10 and 9 to 11 weeks respectively. One of them rates the strain as moderately difficult, calls it sensitive to changing environmental conditions and considers a warm, Mediterranean climate suitable; Crop King Seeds, by contrast, considers its version relatively easy to grow. Southseeds describes vigorous growth, good performance in all substrates and large flowers of medium density. Rocket Seeds names large, dense buds in light green with orange hairs and a thick trichome layer.

• Virgin Seeds: Super Silver Haze × Jack Herer, regular seeds only, listed for indoor and outdoor cultivation.
• Crop King Seeds: Super Silver Haze × Jack Herer, feminized, 8 to 10 weeks of flowering, 300 g/m² indoor and 200 g per plant outdoor, harvest in mid-October. Rocket Seeds gives the same figures for its feminized version.
• Dutchman Seeds: Super Silver Haze × Jack Herer, feminized, 55 to 65 days of flowering, up to 450 g/m² indoor and up to 550 g per plant outdoor.
• Growers Lab: autoflowering, feminized version.
• Élite Seeds: Super Jack 047 from Jack Elite × AK47, feminized, 8 to 9 weeks of flowering.

Community Experiences:

The reports largely agree on the stimulating basic direction. A few users, however, found the strain relaxing to sleepy or heavy and clouding, and one missed the expected energy boost entirely. Duration figures range from 35 to 45 minutes of distinct effect to around 7 hours. One report stresses that cultivation and curing help determine quality.

A documented indoor soil grow from seeds of no known breeder used topping, LST and repeated defoliation. The grower recorded fluctuating pH, slow flower formation and burnt pistils toward the end.
