Gummiez

The name of the mother plant Peach Ringz suggests peach, yet Compound Genetics describes the scent of Gummiez mainly as grape candy, complemented by creamy Gelato tones and caramelized sugar. According to the breeder, the deciding factor was the father, a reverted cutting of Jet Fuel Gelato, which reportedly rounded off the sharp citrus note of Peach Ringz and shifted the sweetness toward grape.

Aroma and Flavor:

A review in a trade magazine from Oregon confirmed the grape character in 2022. When breaking up the buds, the author noted cool Gelato notes, panna cotta and roasted sugar; after grinding, hash and fennel pollen were added. Other strain descriptions place the emphasis differently: one lists peach, coffee, chestnut and diesel, another berries, strawberry, lemon and nutty notes. User reports describe a mix of fruit and fuel, a sweet taste and a mild smoke.

Genetics and Origin:

Peach Ringz comes from Dying Breed Seeds and traces back to Marionberry and Eddy OG. Jet Fuel Gelato, called Jetlatto in some descriptions, is a cross of Jet Fuel and Gelato. The seeds from Compound Genetics are feminized. User reports on the strain go back to November 2021; an article from 2023 names Node Labs as originator alongside Compound Genetics. Sources diverge on classification: 2 strain descriptions list Gummiez as a sativa-dominant hybrid, one of them with a 60 % sativa share, while 2 others list it as a balanced hybrid.

Compound Genetics has crossed the strain further itself: White Gummy comes from White Runtz and Gummiez, Jokerz Candy from Gummiez and Grape Gas. Most Wanted Genetics combined Gummiez with Baby Yoda to make Cosmic Cotton Candy, Holy Smoke Seeds with Strawberry StarDawg to make Peach Slaps. Grape Gummiez, a cross with Grape Gasoline, is listed without a breeder.

Effects:

Compound Genetics describes a heavy effect centered on the head that can leave users foggy and slightly disoriented; the 2022 review speaks of a heavy, spaced-out head. User reports mention euphoria, giddiness and relaxation. Reports disagree on whether the strain is more stimulating or more sedating. Some describe drive, focus and creativity, others a delayed, heavy effect with tired eyes and drowsiness. Dry mouth and headaches are also named, and occasionally initial nervousness.

Lab Results:

A producer from Oregon has published measurements for 2 batches. The batch reviewed in 2022 came in at 24.04 % THC and 0.07 % CBD, a 2023 batch at 25.58 % THC, 0.06 % CBD and 0.12 % CBG. Such values vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype. One strain description gives 20 to 25 % THC.

For the 2023 batch, 3.35 % terpenes were reported. Farnesene led at 0.81 %, followed by limonene (0.47 %), myrcene (0.40 %), nerolidol (0.30 %), caryophyllene (0.27 %) and linalool (0.26 %). Strain descriptions, by contrast, name caryophyllene, limonene and humulene as the dominant terpenes.

Cultivation:

According to strain descriptions, Gummiez is suited to growing indoors and outdoors; flowering time is given as 8 to 9 weeks, difficulty as medium. The breeder's description and the 2022 review describe dense, sticky buds, dark green on the outside and covered in trichomes, with purple areas inside. The review also mentions fleshy calyxes and little stem; a user report also mentions purple coloring.
