Strawberry Cough cutting from Colorado × reverted Girl Scout Cookies cutting; feminized only; medium yield (no figure); SOG or early topping in the vegetative stage.
also known as Strawberry OG Cookies
Strawberry Cookies combines strawberry and Cookies genetics; crosses from several breeders exist under this name, with Connoisseur Genetics considered the original breeder.
Strawberry Cookies is described in several consumption reports as more uplifting than sedating, even though one strain description assigns the variety 70 % indica. The lineage is just as inconsistent. Crosses circulating under this name come from at least 3 breeders with different parents, each combining a strawberry strain with a line from the Cookies family; Connoisseur Genetics is considered the original breeder.
In the reports, euphoria, good mood, creativity, arousal and a tingling sensation in the body come up. One consumer was reminded of the energizing character of Sour Diesel, while others found the strain more relaxing or described a cozy body feeling. Dry eyes and dizziness are mentioned as unwanted side effects, and one report describes paranoia in social settings; strain descriptions add dry mouth. Regarding taste, several reviewers highlight a distinct strawberry note, with one thinking of strawberry cake.
The cultivation reports at hand refer to seeds from Super Sativa Seed Club, distributed through Dutch Passion. Buyers reported on Dutch Passion's page a dry yield of 180 g from one plant after 6.5 weeks of flowering and 780 g from 4 plants on 1.44 m² after about 9.5 weeks, longer than stated by the breeder; others reported 300 and 85 g per plant. While the breeder states uniform growth, one buyer distinguished sativa- and indica-leaning plants. A grower in a 1 m² box observed a strong growth spurt after switching to 12/12 and treated the densely leaved plants preventively against powdery mildew.
According to the breeder's text, Connoisseur Genetics crossed a Strawberry Cough cutting from Colorado with a reverted Girl Scout Cookies cutting. Strain descriptions that also name Connoisseur Genetics as the originator instead give Animal Cookies and Strawberry Fields as parents; one of them lists Strawberry OG Cookies as a secondary name. The breeder has continued to use the strain: crossing a selected cutting of their own with Casey Jones produced Strawberry Jones Cookies, while a cross with Humble Pie resulted in Baked Berries.
Connoisseur Genetics states around 9 weeks of flowering and a medium yield for its own version; the feminized plants can be grown in a Sea of Green or topped early in the vegetative stage.
Super Sativa Seed Club, whose seeds according to a 2020 post are available through Dutch Passion as part of a close collaboration, crossed Strawberry Cough F1 with a Californian cutting of Thin Mint Cookies, a line from OG Kush and Durban Poison. According to the breeder, selection took 2 years. The breeder lists the strain as a fast version with 6.5 to 7 weeks of flowering, with one phenotype needing 8 to 9 weeks. Indoors the plants reportedly reach about 1.5 m, are densely covered in resin and should be topped and supported due to the heavy flowers. For outdoor cultivation the breeder names warm regions with hot summers.
Paisa Grow Seeds offers regular seeds of a cross between Strawberry and Animal Cookies. The breeder states 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, harvest in October, high yields and very compact, golf ball-shaped buds.
Under the modified name Strawberry Cookies OG R1, Ethos Genetics releases a feminized cross of Strawberry OG IBL and Ethos Cookies #16. Stated are 60 to 70 days of flowering and fairly tall plants with medium to long internodes, compact buds and a high calyx-to-leaf ratio. The breeder advises topping after the first large fan leaf pair, and describes phenotypes with gas, sour and pine notes as well as sweeter strawberry or dry grape types.
The descriptions center on strawberry, with varying accompanying notes. Strain descriptions add citrus and earth, others diesel and cheese or cherry and nutty earth. Super Sativa Seed Club describes a sweet strawberry with vanilla and fresh mint that develops further with long curing; buyers noted a peppery touch in some plants. Paisa Grow Seeds compares the taste to jam and strawberry biscuits. Descriptions of medical flower mention earthy, minty and sweet notes.
Regarding terpenes, strain descriptions place myrcene, caryophyllene and pinene at the top, in varying order. Product information on medical flower instead names limonene, linalool and humulene as the main terpenes, with individual variants also listing myrcene or beta-caryophyllene.
Paisa Grow Seeds states up to 25 % THC for individual plants. Super Sativa Seed Club classifies its own version as very high in THC without giving a figure; one description of this version lists 21 %. Medical flower of this strain from Portuguese cultivation is declared at 27 or 30 % THC with a maximum of 1 % CBD, though content can vary by batch and cultivation. The genetics of this flower are given sometimes as Strawberry Cough with Thin Mint Cookies, sometimes with Girl Scout Cookies.
