Alpine Star, also called Alpine OG, is an indica-leaning cross of Tahoe OG and Sensi Star, attributed to breeders from Michigan whose names are unknown.

Research as of 11/04/2026

The parents of Alpine Star are given as Tahoe OG and Sensi Star; the predominantly indica hybrid is also listed as Alpine OG or Alphine OG Kush. Who made the cross is not on record. Strain descriptions attribute it to breeders from Michigan without naming them.

Genetics and Origin:

Strain descriptions put the indica share at 75 %. Figures differ for feminized seeds sold under the name: Royal King Seeds states 65 %, while a retailer gives 80 % for another version. The lineage gave rise to Alpine Star CBD at Weed Seeds Express, a CBD-rich cross whose second parent the vendor itself only presumes, namely Cannatonic or a related strain.

Aroma and Flavor:

Lemon is the note on which the aroma descriptions agree. Depending on the source, earth and musk are added, pine and diesel, or a pungent, musty undertone. In flavor, citrus, fresh earth and pine are named, occasionally lavender as well. A Canadian producer describes its flowers as fruity and sweet in taste.

Strain descriptions give myrcene as the leading terpene, followed by caryophyllene and limonene. This ranking is not based on published measurements.

THC and CBD Content:

For THC, strain descriptions give a range of 17 to 24 %, and individual ones state 20 % or 24 % as a fixed value. For CBD the figures contradict each other: one description lists 0 %, others up to 2 %.

Effects:

Strain descriptions pair a euphoric, uplifted mood with physical relaxation, tingling and sleepiness; creativity and cheerfulness are also mentioned. One description outlines a course from initial creative euphoria to heavy sedation that pins one to the couch. As side effects the sources list dry mouth, dry or reddened eyes, headache and fatigue, and one source adds paranoia and anxiety.

Community Experiences:

The consumer reports that were read do not add up to a uniform picture. Some users found the strain stimulating and describe energy, focus, a clear head, creativity and giddiness; one report even classes it as sativa-leaning. Others describe a relaxing, tiring effect with distinct tingling in the body. One report is negative and mentions sleepiness and headache. Individual reports highlight the pine note in the aroma or the white, frosted flowers.

Cultivation:

According to strain descriptions, the plants stay short and compact, grow bushy and carry broad fan leaves. They reportedly do best indoors, while outdoors they cope in a warm, dry climate. Indoor flowering is given as 49 to 63 days, and outdoors the harvest season starts at the end of September. Regular thinning is meant to bring light into the interior of the plant and improve air circulation. The descriptions rate the difficulty as moderate.

Finished flowers from one producer are described as light green, with orange hairs and a coating of trichomes.

Versions from Different Breeders:

Royal King Seeds cites the same parents for its feminized version without claiming the breeding for itself. The vendor gives 49 to 63 days of flowering, up to 350 g/m² indoors and up to 400 g per plant outdoors, 24 % THC within a range of 23.6 to 29 %, and 0.07 % CBD. For aroma it describes grape, pine and woody frankincense; as climate it recommends cool-temperate to continental conditions, which contradicts the other descriptions. Another feminized version is attributed to Seedsman by a retailer, with 7 to 9 weeks of flowering and 24 % THC.

Genetically distinct is Alpine Star CBD from Weed Seeds Express, a feminized, photoperiod strain with 50 % indica and 50 % sativa. The breeder states up to 20 % CBD and at most 0.3 % THC, a flowering time of 63 to 70 days and heights of up to 80 cm indoors and up to 110 cm outdoors.
