Fast Buds crossed Banana Purple Punch Auto from the autoflower lines Purple Punch Auto F5 and Strawberry Banana Auto F5, according to the breeder data that several seed retailers reproduce. The plant is listed as an indica-dominant hybrid with 75 % indica and 25 % sativa, offered as a feminized autoflower seed. Notable is the gap between the manufacturer's figures and documented grows, which ran longer and did not always show the purple coloring the name alludes to.
Genetics and Origin:
The descent from Purple Punch Auto and Strawberry Banana Auto is the one named most often. Individual retailers differ: one names Banana OG and Purple Punch as parents and a ratio of 80 to 20, another White Widow and FB Auto #1. Two strain descriptions leave the parents open, and one of them lists the plant as a cross of an unnamed strain with ruderalis.
THC and CBD Content:
Fast Buds states up to 26 % THC and less than 1 % CBD. Some retailers give up to 30 % THC, and one strain description lists 30 % THC and 1 % CBD. One retailer cites a lab test showing 30.4 % THC but names neither the lab nor the year.
Aroma and Flavor:
The breeder describes citrus on a slightly earthy base, plus fresh strawberry and ripe banana; on the exhale, sweet pineapple and a hint of petrol are said to follow, which the breeder attributes to Purple Punch. Retailers add gummy bear sweetness and grape. Consumers compare the taste to banana candy or chewing gum with a fruit punch flavor, while others taste berries and grape with an earthy undertone. One report mentions a minty, diesel-like lingering scent. As terpenes, strain descriptions without measured values name myrcene and caryophyllene, plus limonene or linalool depending on the source.
Effects:
Fast Buds describes a cheerful, clear-headed onset followed by a long-lasting, strongly sedating body effect. In user reports, relaxation, tiredness and hunger dominate, while other consumers had creative and euphoric phases. Two reports describe the effect as delayed and building slowly. One grower found it longer-lasting than with other autoflowers, and one consumer noticed dissociative effects after only a small amount. Dry mouth and dry eyes are named as side effects, occasionally also dizziness.
Cultivation:
According to Fast Buds, the plant is ready to harvest 8 weeks after germination; individual retailers state 8 to 9 weeks. The breeder gives 450 to 550 g/m² indoors and 60 to 200 g per plant outdoors and rates the strain as easy; retailers give a height of 80 to 120 cm. Growth is described as compact, with numerous strong side shoots surrounding a dominant main shoot, short internodes and a thick central cola. According to the breeder, the flowers turn purple only under suitable conditions.
One retailer advises against topping and considers LST and defoliation suitable. One strain description points to sufficient air circulation and light penetration because of the dense flowers.
Community Experiences:
A thoroughly documented indoor grow ran 11 weeks from emergence. The plant stood in a 30-liter pot under continuous light, was topped at the second node and trained with LST to four main shoots; it reached a height of 22 inches at a width of 31 inches and yielded 10.8 ounces of dry weight. It showed no red or purple tones, and the grower did not find the smell to be what the descriptions announce.
In a second grow the plant stretched more than expected and produced more vegetative mass; on day 52, one or two flowers turned purple there, and the buds were dense. Consumers describe purple, heavily frosted flowers. Customer reviews at a retailer praise the dense flowers and the fruity scent, but also report failed germinations, a seedling that stopped growing and a plant that did not go into flowering.
