At least 3 crosses with different pedigrees circulate under the name Cookie Crunch. The best documented is the line from Greenpoint Seeds: Do-Si-Dos as the mother, a Stardawg male as the father, listed as regular seed with photoperiod flowering.
Genetics and Origin:
According to Greenpoint Seeds, Do-Si-Dos traces back to ThaDocta from Archive Seed Bank in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. With this strain, material of the OGKB line became widely available that had previously been passed on only as cuttings in closed circles. According to the breeder, Stardawg comes from Top Dawg Seeds and combines Chem 4 with Tres Dawg. Greenpoint uses the male to give the Cookies side more vigor and a sharper scent. Another strain description specifically names the in-house Stardawg backcross BX2 from Greenpoint as the father. On the ratio, the breeder states 70 % Indica and 30 % Sativa.
The pedigree reads quite differently in another strain description. There, Cookie Crunch is a cross of GSC and Captain Crunch, and no breeder is named. In the same place, Captain Crunch, also listed as Captain Krunch, is attributed to Exotic Genetix and traces back to OG Kush and Kushberry.
Versions from Different Breeders:
Greenpoint Seeds lists its own cross as regular, photoperiod seed. The line from GSC and Captain Crunch is not attributed to any breeder.
A third variety shares only the name with both: a CBD-rich hemp variety from Carolina Cookies and Crunch Berry, whose genetics come from Medgrow Farm according to the producer. Stated are 14.10 % CBDA and 16.40 % total cannabinoids with less than 0.3 % Delta-9-THC; the producer names linalool, myrcene and pinene as dominant terpenes.
Aroma and Flavor:
For the Greenpoint line, one strain description lists citrus and lime, cookie dough, earth, fuel, Kush, pine and skunk. Growers who rated their plants on the breeder's page speak of cookie dough with a chemical sharpness or of a mix of fruit, gas and cookie. The smell is strong even during the growth phase and in one report recalled other Stardawg crosses; in another, an activated carbon filter was needed during flowering.
For the line from GSC and Captain Crunch, the flavor is given as diesel, sweetness and a pungent note. Consumer reports on this entry describe a sweetish scent with an earthy undertone and a cookie taste on the exhale.
Effects:
The reports do not show which line the consumers tried in each case. Described are good mood, giggliness and euphoria, as well as creativity and focus. Some found the high stimulating, others relaxing, and one report tiring. One piece of feedback on the Greenpoint line describes a strong effect that sets in quickly, lasts long and shifts the sense of time; the day after, the grogginess was still clearly noticeable. Dry mouth and dry eyes are also named as side effects.
THC Content:
The available values refer to the cross of GSC and Captain Crunch. One strain description gives 26 % THC and 1 % CBG. Another lists a single measurement without lab or year at 21.74 % THC and 24.18 % THCA. In the terpene profile of this measurement, beta-caryophyllene at 0.46 mg/g leads myrcene at 0.34 mg/g and alpha-pinene at 0.15 mg/g, whereas the first description puts myrcene at the top, followed by caryophyllene and limonene.
Cultivation:
Greenpoint states 62 to 75 days of flowering and describes the cross as sturdier and easier to grow than many other Cookies hybrids. According to the breeder, it shrugs off moderate swings in pH and temperature, and the stated range of use runs from grow tent to warehouse. Since the seed is regular, males germinate too. One strain description considers the line suitable for indoor, outdoor and greenhouse, rates its height as medium to tall and credits it with resistance to pests and diseases. On difficulty it contradicts the breeder and assigns the strain to advanced growers.
Community Experiences:
Among the feedback on the breeder's page, several growers report full germination and another very vigorous plants. The stretch stands out: a plant that went into flowering at 10 inches reached about 4 feet. The same report mentions very dark, almost black foliage. Another grower found different phenotypes among 4 germinated plants, including one leaning toward Do-Si-Dos with compact growth and small, very hard buds. Heavy trichome coverage with sticky resin and an early, vigorous bud set are mentioned in further reports.
