At least 5 different lineages circulate under the name Cosmic Cookies. The most commonly described is a cross of GSC (Girl Scout Cookies) and Chem's Sister, Chem Sis for short. In addition, 2 breeders and 2 producers list plants with different parent strains under the same name, and none of the sources reviewed states who bred the widespread Chem Sis variant.
Genetics and Origin:
Several strain profiles consistently classify the Chem Sis line as an indica-leaning hybrid; one puts the ratio at 60 % indica to 40 % sativa. One seed vendor lists the cross as feminized seed without naming a breeder. A product page for an extract attributes the combination of GSC and Chem Sis to MadCat's Backyard Stash, which contradicts that breeder's own strain description: it names a different father.
Versions from Different Breeders:
By its own account, MadCat's Backyard Stash crossed a GSC selection that has since been discontinued, and which the breeder calls an exclusive original, with a male Cosmic Orgasm, to which the breeder attributes a lemony, floral scent. The structure is said to come from the mother, the potency from the father. The strain existed only as regular seed, with roughly 75 days of flowering and 27 to 30 % THC according to the breeder's details, suitable for indoor, outdoor and greenhouse cultivation.
Pacific NW Roots combines a specific clone line of GSC with Alien Kush. Here too only regular seeds are listed; flowering takes 8 to 9 weeks according to the details for this version, and yield and plant height are rated as medium.
For the feminized Chem Sis version, Crop King Seeds gives 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, 300 g/m² indoors and 400 g per plant outdoors, with harvest in early October. The vendor describes compact, low growth, calls a warm and sunny climate favorable, and gives 24 to 26 % THC and 1 % CBD.
Two further lines come from producers. In Canada, a sativa-leaning cross of Caps Junky and Alien Cookies is listed under the name, with 28 to 34 % THC, 0 to 6 % CBD and limonene, linalool and nerolidol as the leading terpenes according to product details. An extract maker processes a cross of Dos y Dos, Chemdawg and Sour Crack and describes its profile as fruity, with hints of dough and chemicals.
THC and CBD Content:
Strain descriptions of the Chem Sis line give 26 to 29 % THC, one of them additionally 1 % CBG. One description names myrcene as the dominant terpene, followed by pinene and caryophyllene; another puts caryophyllene ahead of myrcene. For a vape extract of this strain whose genetics are not stated, a manufacturer publishes beta-caryophyllene at 3.4 %, myrcene at 3 % and humulene at 1 %.
Aroma and Flavor:
Diesel and a chemical note form the base in descriptions of the Chem Sis line, complemented by nuts, vanilla, herbs, earth and a sour note. One description also mentions blue cheese and berries, another a petrol aftertaste. User reports mention gas, a skunky, hash-like taste, lemon, mint and orange, along with a pungent smell.
Accounts of the flowers' appearance diverge. One source describes cluster-shaped, forest-green buds with amber-colored hairs and trichomes, the other large, rather loose, light green flowers with yellow-orange pistils.
Effects:
Several reports describe a fast onset with euphoria, elevated mood and drive, in some cases also creativity, giddiness, talkativeness or increased arousal. In some accounts this is followed by physical relaxation that, according to individual users, does not tip into lethargy. One report speaks of a floaty, slightly spaced-out state, another of ravenous hunger. Dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness are named as side effects, and one report also mentions forgetfulness.
Community Experiences:
13 user reports were evaluated, and the 8 dated ones are from 2023 to 2026. A recurring view is that the strain is strong, along with a combination of head and body effects; one report sees in it the calming side of GSC joined with the stimulating side of Chem Sis. Others differ: in one case the effect sets in slowly and lasts long, in another it stayed weak at first and only became noticeable after a break from use, and another user found it stimulating but hardly relaxing. On cultivation there is only a note that high yields require skill. Which of the genetic lines the reports refer to remains open; one concerns a vape product.
