Medellin is a cross of Wedding Cake and Chemdawg from the circle of Cookies and Lemonnade and the parent of its own breeding line with strains such as Bogota and Miklo.
The Californian brands Cookies and Lemonnade use Medellin as a parent of their own breeding line: Bogota, Miami Yayo, Miklo and The Wolf are explicitly listed as part of this Medellin line and combine the strain, in that order, with GG4, Collins Ave, Blanco and Dogwalker OG. Medellin itself descends from Wedding Cake and Chemdawg. The name refers to the Colombian city, but one strain description places its origin with breeders in California.
Several strain profiles give the Wedding Cake and Chemdawg lineage, as does a producer from Quebec. It remains open which Chem variant was involved: a grow guide lists the Chem parent as Sirius Chem D, while a user report speaks of an unspecified Chem cut.
The details on the breeder also differ. Lemonnade, a brand from the Cookies family, is named most often. A 2021 review, however, attributes the breeding to Cookies and describes Lemonnade as the producer of the sampled flowers, and another strain description lists both names together. In a strain directory, Medellin appears without a breeder in the category for clone-only strains.
Finally, the classification as indica or sativa is contradictory. A strain description and the producer from Quebec give 70 % indica and 30 % sativa, a grow guide rates the strain as sativa-leaning, and another profile as balanced. Several user reports also describe it as rather sativa-leaning.
