Phenotype #23 from Triangle Mints (Triangle Kush × Animal Mints); according to the strain description, never available as feminized seeds. No breeder data found on flowering, yield or height.
Wedding Cake
also known as Triangle Mints #23, Pink Cookies
Wedding Cake is considered a cross of Triangle Kush and Animal Mints from Seed Junky Genetics; several seed producers trace their versions back to Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies.
Grow and consumption reports on Wedding Cake consistently describe the aroma as vanilla, pepper and a buttery sweetness. Accounts of effects and lineage diverge, however: the origin is usually given as a cross of Triangle Kush and Animal Mints from Seed Junky Genetics, though several seed producers trace their plants of the same name back to Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies.
Community Experiences:
Seed Junky Genetics never released the original strain as feminized seeds; its strain description depicts short, bushy plants with dense, resin-rich buds. In an indoor report on the Barney's Farm version, however, 2 plants stretched noticeably after the switch to flowering. After 59 days of flowering they measured 88 and 96 cm and together yielded 148 g of dried flower; only one of the plants turned purple from the 6th week of flowering.
Another report documents a single plant grown in hydroponics on 0.35 m², topped in weeks 3 and 5 and later trained through a net. After 10 weeks of flowering it stood 40 cm tall and produced 130 g of fresh weight, with a strong smell only appearing in late flowering. Strain descriptions put flowering at 7 to 9 weeks and an outdoor harvest between September and October.
Effects:
Reports describe physical relaxation combined with an uplifted mood, along with euphoria, and in individual reports also creativity, focus or a tingling sensation in the body. Some consumers become sleepy, whereas the report on the hydroponically grown plant instead mentions an energizing effect during the day. Side effects reported include dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness, as well as nervousness, paranoia and a strong physical heaviness.
Aroma and Flavor:
Alongside vanilla and pepper, consumers mention earthy notes, citrus, pine and a diesel-like note, with sweet tea reported occasionally. One description of the Seed Junky version speaks of sweet pastry with spice and an earthy undertone, at times spicier on the exhale. The grow reports add tangerine and roasted hazelnut, and in one case berries and a light skunk note. For the terpene profile, strain descriptions rank caryophyllene ahead of limonene and myrcene, while SC Labs, 2022 lists the strain among the limonene-dominant strains in a terpene overview.
Genetics and Origin:
Wedding Cake was bred by JBeezy, born Anthony Hart, a breeder at Seed Junky Genetics in California. In the mid-2010s, JBeezy pollinated a Triangle Kush clone with Animal Mints, a line derived from Animal Cookies and SinMint Cookies. Phenotype #23 originates from this cross, named Triangle Mints; in Canada it is also known as Pink Cookies. According to one account, the Jungle Boys from Los Angeles helped the name Wedding Cake break through. Descriptions classify the strain as roughly 60 % indica.
In 2019, a major US strain portal named Wedding Cake its Strain of the Year, and at the 2018 Emerald Cup, a privately grown outdoor entry took 2nd place in the Personal Sungrown category. As a parent, the strain is found in Wedding Crasher by Symbiotic Genetics and Dosi-Cake by Archive Seed Bank; Seed Junky itself developed Ice Cream Cake and Cake Crasher from it.
THC and CBD Content:
One German-language strain description lists 20 to 25 % THC and less than 1 % CBD. ACT Labs, a testing lab in the New York market, measured 25.4 % THC on a flower sample in December 2024. This is a single measurement; values vary depending on batch, cultivation and phenotype.
