Pink Picasso
also known as PPc
Pink Picasso is a cross of Candyland and OZK from Wonderbrett; its aroma is described variously as candy sweetness with mint or as citrus with pine.
Descriptions of the aroma of Pink Picasso diverge in two directions. Wonderbrett, the brand behind the cross of Candyland and OZK, describes candy sweetness, chocolate with mint and cinnamon, plus floral notes with a hint of rose and lavender. Other strain descriptions put citrus above earthy pine notes, complemented by apricot and orange.
Aroma and Flavor:
Two detailed reviews of Wonderbrett flower show this range. The 2019 review found fruity sweetness with a cool mint reminiscent of eucalyptus; when broken apart, the flowers smelled strongly of mint and sugar, and the taste was dominated by a syrupy sweetness with mint on the exhale. The 2021 review, by contrast, described a perfume-like scent with lemon, blueberry candy and sour pine. In the smoke, juniper and citrus peel showed up; vaporized, floral notes and orange candy came forward. Other strain descriptions list menthol as well as nutty and spicy notes.
Genetics and Origin:
Wonderbrett, founded in 2014 by Brett Feldman and Cameron Damwijk and based in California, set up the cross Candyland × OZK as early as 2013. The two did not find the phenotype that became known as Pink Picasso among the seedlings until 2017. The strain went on the market on 27 October 2018, the same day Wonderbrett relaunched the brand. Feldman traces the selected OZK phenotype back to seeds that came through an acquaintance with a connection to 3rd Gen Family.
Strain descriptions list Pink Picasso as a balanced hybrid, one of them with 50 % sativa and 50 % indica. Seed vendors with their own versions, by contrast, speak of a sativa-dominant hybrid.
Effects:
User reports repeatedly mention euphoria, lifted mood and physical relaxation, in some cases combined with focus, creativity or a tingling in the body. The reports disagree on whether the strain is stimulating or sedating: some describe it as energetic, others as drowsy-making. The 2019 review had classed the flowers as a morning strain and in the end found them sleep-inducing, while the 2021 review perceived the effect as mild to moderate, calm and focused.
Dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness are named as side effects, the latter among novice consumers. One strain description mentions nervousness and paranoia at high doses, one review a slight tightness in the throat when inhaling.
THC and CBD Content:
Strain descriptions give 22 to 30 % THC. Also published are 2 values from individual batches, each without naming the testing lab: 21.79 and 25.57 % THC. Such contents vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype. For CBD the figures contradict each other; one strain description gives 0.75 to 0.89 %, while the seed vendors named below give 0 %.
Lab Results:
For the terpene profile there is a single measurement of one batch, likewise without a named lab. It reports 2.57 % terpenes, led by limonene at 0.77 %, beta-caryophyllene at 0.51 % and linalool at 0.50 %; humulene came to 0.14 %, myrcene to 0.04 %. The measurement therefore does not match strain descriptions that rank myrcene directly behind limonene. The 2021 review gives 2.38 % terpenes for its batch, with caryophyllene, limonene and linalool at the top. For CBG the single measurement gave 0.61 %, while strain descriptions give 2 %.
Community Experiences:
The appearance of the flowers is described differently. The 2019 review saw semi-dense flowers in light and dark green with deep purple areas and orange pistils, the 2021 review small to medium-sized, moderately dense flowers with rather dull trichomes. Strain descriptions speak of small, loose flowers in mint green with a pink sheen.
Versions from Different Breeders:
Under the name Pink Picasso, Crop King Seeds, Rocket Seeds, Vancouver Seed Bank, Mary Jane's Garden and Sunwest Genetics list feminized seeds. All 5 give Candyland and OZK as parentage and state the same values: 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, outdoor harvest from late September to early October, 500 to 600 g/m² indoors, 800 to 900 g per plant outdoors, a height of 5 to 8 feet (about 152 to 244 cm), 26 % THC and a Mediterranean climate. They differ on difficulty: Crop King Seeds rates the strain as moderately difficult, Sunwest Genetics considers it suitable for beginners as well. Mary Jane's Garden advises regular pruning and monitoring of humidity against mold, Vancouver Seed Bank describes the flowers as dense. The vendors do not document that these seeds trace back to material from Wonderbrett.
Copycat Genetixx additionally offers S1 seeds under the name Pink Picasso S1. Another strain description gives 54 to 61 days of flowering for Pink Picasso.
