Strawberry Glue

Strawberry Glue does not follow a single pedigree. Strains of this name have been released by 4 breeders, and only 3 of them list Gorilla Glue as a parent. The line from Dark Horse Genetics is regarded as the origin, an indica-leaning cross of Gorilla Glue #4 and Strawberry Diesel whose aroma combines strawberry and diesel.

Genetics and Origin:

According to one strain description, the cross by Dark Horse Genetics originated in California. The breeder explains it as an effort to bring more diesel genetics back into the Glue line and to add a strawberry note. Strawberry Diesel, the second parent, itself traces back to Strawberry Cough and Sour Diesel. The lineage is not fully documented, however: a strain overview lists the two parents only as probable.

Strawberry Glue appears as a parent in several later crosses. Atlas Seed crossed it with itself to make Gorilla Strawberry Diesel, and JohnnyBGoode Seed Collective used it for Mims Workshop with Trop Cookies and for Swampjoose with Platinum.

Versions from Different Breeders:

The original version from Dark Horse Genetics was released exclusively as regular seed. The stated figures are 63 to 70 days of flowering, an above-average yield and 18 to 28 % THC; indoor and outdoor are named as growing locations.

T.H.Seeds took its own route. From gifted seed of Strawbanana Cream that came from Karma Genetics, the breeder selected a male plant and pollinated the breeder's own Goji Glue with it. For this feminized version, T.H.Seeds states 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, a yield of 500 to 600 g/m² and a plant height of 90 to 130 cm, rates cultivation as easy and names indoor, outdoor and greenhouse as locations. SCROG and SOG are expressly mentioned as possible methods. Classifications differ: the strain is listed in part as a balanced hybrid, in part as a sativa-leaning one. A further cross with Strawbanana Cream was released by T.H.Seeds as the regular Strawberry Glue X SBC.

Amsterdam Genetics pairs Gorilla Glue with Strawberry Banana. According to the breeder, the feminized strain with 60 % indica flowers for 8 to 9 weeks; for THC content Amsterdam Genetics gives 19 %, for CBD 1 %. The plants are described as vigorous growers of medium to tall height with sturdy branches, producing dense, light green flowers. Space GenetiX, in turn, crossed Shiskaberry, a Strawberry cut according to the breeder, with a reversed GG #4 and gives 9 to 10 weeks of flowering for the feminized hybrid with equal indica and sativa shares.

THC and CBD Content:

Alongside the breeder values, one strain description gives 23 to 32 % THC and 1 to 2 % CBD, and another lists 1 % CBG. For a medicinal flower of this strain, the product information declares 22 % THC and, depending on the source, 0.9 to 1 % CBD. Which breeder line this flower is based on is not stated.

Aroma and Flavor:

Strawberry and diesel come first in descriptions of the scent, complemented by berries and by herbal and spicy notes. Consumers describe the taste as sweet and strawberry-like, one also with a floral undertone, another as berry-like with diesel on the inhale. One report, by contrast, notes that the flowers smelled of neither strawberry nor banana. One strain description names myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene as the leading terpenes; for the medicinal flower, myrcene, caryophyllene and nerolidol are given. The versions set their own accents: Amsterdam Genetics emphasizes caryophyllene and a sour fuel note, T.H.Seeds a creamy-sweet strawberry taste.

Effects:

Consumer reports describe a relaxing effect on the body, accompanied by euphoria and a tingling sensation. Reports differ on how strongly it sedates. One calls the strain mild and slightly sedative, another balanced, without lethargy and with some drive; in a third, concentration and talkativeness come to the fore. A further report describes a dazed, poorly focused state with wave-like body sensations. Dry mouth is named several times as a side effect, and once a strong urge to cough; one strain description also mentions possible paranoia.

Cultivation:

Growers describe large, dark green flowers under a thick layer of trichomes, while another account gives mint green, spade-shaped buds with thin orange pistils. For the T.H.Seeds version, one report notes that the plant copes with different growing systems without special demands.
