Limonene leads the terpene analysis of a batch of Baby Yoda, whose lab values a reviewer reported in 2023, at 0.997 %. It was followed by β-caryophyllene at 0.728 %, linalool at 0.355 %, α-pinene at 0.253 % and β-pinene at 0.203 %; total terpene content was given as 5.29 %. The indica-dominant cross of Khalifa Kush and The Menthol comes from the breeder Compound Genetics of Portland, Oregon, and is also known as Grogu.
Lab Results:
This single measurement agrees with other data only in part. Strain descriptions put myrcene first, followed by pinene and caryophyllene; one of them gives 0.94 mg/g myrcene, 0.47 mg/g β-caryophyllene and 0.19 mg/g α-pinene for an unspecified sample. A producer, in turn, names limonene, β-caryophyllene and germacrene B as the main terpenes of its flowers, with a total content of 4 to 5 %. Terpene profile and total content therefore vary considerably depending on batch, cultivation and phenotype.
THC and CBD Content:
Producers report between 22.93 and 26.96 % THC for individual batches; the batch with the terpene profile described above came in at 23.33 %. CBD is reported only for the batch with the highest THC value, at 0.11 %, which classes the strain as THC-dominant. Strain descriptions put the THC content at 23 to 25 %. User reports also mention test values of 21.84 % and 28.31 %.
Genetics and Origin:
Khalifa Kush traces back to the OG Kush family, The Menthol to Gelato #45 and a diesel hybrid. Strain descriptions put the indica share of Baby Yoda at 70 %. The strain is distributed by Compound Genetics as a clone.
The same parent combination is also behind Khalifa Mints, which, according to strain descriptions, Compound Genetics developed together with the company of the rapper Wiz Khalifa; Wiz Khalifa is said to have chosen it as the first official cross of his brand. One description counts Khalifa Mints among the strains that go back to Christopher Lynch of Compound Genetics. Whether both names refer to the same selection is not clearly established; a reviewer discussed flowers in 2023 that were listed under both names.
Baby Yoda appears as a parent in several more recent crosses, including Jedi Juice, Yodana and Galactic Guava from Elev8 Seeds, Platinu Yoda from In House Genetics, and Vaderade and Light Zaber from Most Wanted Genetics.
Aroma and Flavor:
In strain descriptions, tobacco, wood and pepper form the base note, complemented by earthy and spicy notes with a sweet undertone. Diesel, pine and herbs are also named repeatedly, incense and citrus occasionally. One reviewer perceived mainly gasoline. A product description compares the scent to lemon candies and mentions a fresh menthol note, and Elev8 Seeds characterizes the terpene profile as sweet, spicy and minty. User reports add fruity impressions of berries and citrus.
Effects:
Reports describe a course that begins with lifted mood, euphoria and focus and shifts into physical relaxation. Consumers also name talkativeness, giggling, creativity and increased arousal. Reports disagree on whether the strain is more stimulating or more subduing: some describe energy and drive, others drowsiness and a heavy, sedating body effect with a delayed onset. Dry mouth and dry eyes are named as side effects, as well as headache; one report describes paranoia and anxiety with racing thoughts.
Cultivation:
According to strain descriptions, the plants stay medium-tall and compact, with tightly spaced nodes, and stretch only moderately in flower. They tolerate topping and LST well. For indoor flowering time, a clone supplier gives 8 to 9 weeks and a strain description about 63 days; outdoors, the same supplier puts the harvest at early to mid October. The strain is accordingly suited to warm, dry climates as well as to indoor and greenhouse cultivation, with defoliation and good air circulation recommended.
The flowers are described as dense and resin-rich, light green with orange hairs; some phenotypes turn purple. The clone supplier highlights the resin yield for solventless extraction.
Versions from Different Breeders:
2 further strains with a different lineage are listed under the name Baby Yoda. Terpdawg Seeds crossed the Compound Genetics strain with Spritzer from Cannarado Genetics; for this feminized version, about 63 days of flowering, 280 to 350 g/m² indoors, an outdoor harvest in late September and an indica share of 70 % are given. Altitude Genetics lists a feminized Baby Yoda from Galactic Walker and Deez Runtz with a ruderalis share. The breeder gives about 70 days of flowering and describes the version as fruity, with medium nutrient and water demand and best suited to indoor cultivation.
