Super Strains, the Dutch breeder, names Enemy of the State as the mother plant of Amnesia. According to the company's history, the original Amnesia came about when the company was still called Hy-Pro Seeds, from this indica of Afghan origin and seeds of Nevil's Haze. As for the ancestry of Enemy of the State itself, several contradictory claims are in circulation.
Genetics and Origin:
Super Strains names only Afghanistan as the origin. A widely circulated strain description lists Top 44 and Victory as parents. An older entry under the name HY-PRO Seeds contains two versions: a pure landrace from the Kashmir region and a cross of an unnamed line with Neville's Haze. Still other descriptions give Nevil's Haze and an unknown landrace, which is the same Haze that Super Strains names as the crossing partner for Amnesia. The type is also reported differently. The breeder speaks of a predominantly indica strain, while other descriptions give 80 % indica or a pure indica.
The strain is still used for further crosses today. Super Strains combined it with a Diesel to make Enemy's Dream, and DFA Autoflowering is listed as another offspring from the same house. Propaganja Seeds crossed it with Grand Daddy Purp to produce Grand Dude #8.
Aroma and Flavor:
Super Strains describes the smell as spicy with a sharp undertone and the smoke as musky with a fruity aftertaste. In one grow report the aroma recalled hashish, while in another the strain tasted sweet with a distinct Kush character. Other descriptions mention floral and earthy notes as well as diesel-like ones, or sour fruit with pungent spice; one consumer found the taste blueberry-like. One strain description names pinene as the leading terpene, ahead of myrcene and limonene, while another names caryophyllene.
Effects:
The breeder describes a strong, body-focused effect that calms and leaves a light, buzzing feeling in the head without being overly sedating. Grow reports confirm the relaxing side; one compared it with old hashish, another found it very strong and long-lasting, to the point of reluctance to move. Reports differ on strength: some consumers found the strain too numbing, others did not find it heavy, and in one rating it fell short of expectations. One description points out that the effect sets in with a delay. Drowsiness is also mentioned, along with dry mouth, nervousness, paranoia and slight forgetfulness as side effects.
THC and CBD Content:
For its feminized version, Super Strains states 23 % THC and 3 % CBD. Other strain descriptions put THC considerably lower, one of them giving 12 to 15 % THC with 5 to 9 % CBD.
Cultivation:
For indoor growing, Super Strains gives 50 to 55 days of flowering, although the same product page also states 8 to 9 weeks. According to the breeder, the plants reach up to 150 cm indoors and 150 to 180 cm outdoors. The breeder gives the indoor yield as up to 550 g/m², and outdoors the harvest takes place in September. The breeder considers the strain well suited to outdoor and greenhouse cultivation. An older breeder description mentions slow growth that requires a longer vegetative phase indoors. Under the earlier company name HY-PRO Seeds, the strain is listed with around 50 days of flowering and 450 to 500 g/m².
Community Experiences:
One indoor grower harvested after 52 days of flowering. The plant grew in a fir-tree shape, stretched from about 15 to 45 cm and gave a slightly above-average yield; the grower rated cultivation as easy, and the plant smelled strong during flowering. A second report gives 47 days of flowering, many long side shoots, a stretch from about 10 to 60 cm and low fertilizer demand. The dried buds there were hard and compact, the yield was moderate, and no mold appeared.
A report with plants over 150 cm indoors and a partial harvest only after 10.5 to 11 weeks differs markedly from these. Another buyer noted differences in quality depending on the phenotype.
