After the switch to flowering, Garlic Sherbet gains considerable height. In House Genetics, the breeder behind the strain, points to strong stretch for its own line, and two grow descriptions put it at 1.5 to 2 times. The cross is GMO, also known as Garlic Cookies, and Blue Sherbert. The spellings Garlic Sherbert and Garlic Sherb are also in common use.
Cultivation:
For the In House Genetics line, a flowering time of 65 to 70 days is stated, while another product description of the same seeds gives 9 weeks. A strain description not tied to a specific seed line arrives at 55 to 64 days. The breeder rates the yield as medium to large, and the strain is intended for indoor and outdoor cultivation. Several descriptions classify it as moderately difficult to grow.
The flowers are mostly described as dense and heavily coated in resin, whereas a single description portrays them as long and loose. Purple tones on flowers or leaves are mentioned several times. According to the product description of the S1 seeds, the plant responds well to topping. A growing guide considers the compact flowers susceptible to powdery mildew and botrytis. The same guide distinguishes two expressions among plants grown from seed, one with a dominant garlic and gas smell and a sweeter one leaning toward sherbet, plus a smaller share that falls in between.
Genetics and Origin:
GMO is traced back in its lineage to Chem D and Girl Scout Cookies, Blue Sherbert to Blue Cookies and Sunset Sherbert. Not all sources follow this line: one strain description names Blueberry Sherbet as the second parent, a product description Sunset Sherbet. Another description suspects an origin in Oregon without citing evidence. The strain is classed as an indica-dominant hybrid, and one source puts the indica share at 60 %.
From a selection called Humble Cut, In House Genetics produced an S1 generation through reversion, which appears as feminized seeds under the name Garlic Sherb S1. The breeder also used the strain in its own crosses: Blackcherry Sherb was made with Black Cherry Pie, Dracula with King Sherb and Garlic Fusion with Terple. Motherland Genetics crossed Garlic Sherbet with White Giant.
Aroma and Flavor:
In House Genetics describes the profile as garlic, chem and cookies with a gassy smell of rubber. Other descriptions add nutty notes, tobacco, skunk and earth, and one also lists citrus, sourness and spice. For imported medical flowers of this strain, earthy, floral and tobacco-like notes as well as lemon and pepper are given.
The terpene data diverge. One strain description puts pinene first, followed by caryophyllene and humulene, another limonene ahead of myrcene and caryophyllene. For the medical flowers, limonene, trans-caryophyllene, farnesene and linalool are named as the main terpenes.
Effects:
The breeder speaks of a relaxing yet stimulating effect. User reports describe euphoria, focus and a clear head, along with a tingling in the body and relaxation; in one report, strong sedation lasts a long time. On strength the reports disagree: some describe the strain as strong, one as rather mild. Reports mention dry mouth as a side effect, and strain descriptions also list dry eyes, dizziness and a raised pulse.
THC and CBD Content:
For medical flowers of this strain from Canada that are prescribed in Germany, product details give 22.15 to 23.5 % THC and less than 1 % CBD; values vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype. Other strain descriptions state 25 % and 26 to 30 % THC respectively, one of them adding 1 % CBG.
