Blue Glue

According to Equilibrium Genetics, only 2 packs of Blue Glue seeds ever came into circulation. The breeder from Mendocino County in California released the cross in 2017 as part of the Wonderland Nursery Seed Series, and it was available on a single day in Humboldt County. The breeder names a female Blueberry Malawi and a male of the Glue 75% line as parents. Other breeders have since sold crosses with a different pedigree under the same name.

Genetics and Origin:

Blueberry Malawi combines DJ Short's Blueberry with a Heirloom Malawi, an African sativa. By its own description, Equilibrium Genetics chose this mother for her pronounced berry note and vigor; fruit aroma and striking coloration are said to come from her. Glue 75% is a backcross in which G. Glue #4 from GG Genetics was crossed again with a hybrid of G. Glue #4 and 99/OG. The breeder attributes short internodes, a medium stature and strong branching with many flower clusters to this line. From the cross itself, the breeder expects dense, resinous flowers.

Other strain descriptions name Blue Dream and Gorilla Glue as parents, some likewise with Equilibrium Genetics as breeder, others without a breeder and with Gorilla Glue #4 as a parent. This does not match the pedigree given by Equilibrium Genetics. One of these descriptions classes Blue Glue as a balanced hybrid.

Aroma and Flavor:

The breeder describes the scent of the cross as sweet, with chocolate and fuel. Other descriptions set their own accents: plum, menthol, blueberry and honey are named, and elsewhere earth, herbs and sweet fruits with spicy, floral and woody notes. For flavor, these mention floral berry and a slightly spicy, herbal finish. Consumers write once of plum and candy, another time of an earthy, slightly skunky taste.

Where strain descriptions give a terpene profile, pinene, myrcene and caryophyllene appear. They disagree on whether pinene or myrcene predominates; one entry additionally lists humulene and limonene.

Effects:

The reports differ. Some describe an activating, creative effect with clear focus, elevated mood, talkativeness and giggling. Others report relaxation, tiredness and strong hunger, up to a heaviness after eating. One less seasoned person found the effect strong, while another rated the flowers as rather low in quality. Dry mouth is named as a side effect.

THC Content:

THC figures in strain descriptions differ: one gives 19 to 24 %, another 17 %. Which version the values belong to is not stated.

Versions from Different Breeders:

The Equilibrium Genetics version appeared exclusively as regular seeds. Goat and Monkey Seeds lists a feminized cross of GG#4 and Blue Moonshine under the name. For it, the breeder gives 10 to 11 weeks of flowering and cultivation indoors, outdoors and in a greenhouse. By the breeder's description, the plants grow large and vigorous, benefit from training and topping, and stretch noticeably after the switch to flowering. The dense flowers range in scent from pronounced chem notes to sour tones recalling fuel and OG; phenotypes of both parents appear among the seeds. The breeder explains the name with a fast-onset, strong high.

Butter Bean Birdseeds sells Blue Glue Auto, a feminized autoflower from Blue Kush Auto and a cross of Original Glue with an unspecified ruderalis. The breeder gives around 80 days from seed to harvest and a height of up to 1 m. It describes compact, sturdy plants with heavy resin production and sticky, dense flowers whose blueberry aroma sits above the gas tone of the Glue line and turns into sweet berry and fuel after curing.
