Blueberry Frost is a hybrid from British Columbia with a disputed lineage: sources name Blueberry Syrup and Permafrost, but also Blueberry and Jack Frost.

Research as of 11/01/2026

Accounts of the ancestry of Blueberry Frost differ. The most detailed origin story comes from Canadian product descriptions: according to these, a long-established breeder from the Shuswap region of British Columbia, who is not named, crossed Blueberry Syrup with Permafrost. One strain description instead lists Blueberry and Jack Frost as the parents and mentions the Canadian cross only as an alternative lineage, while another describes the parents as unknown.

Genetics and Origin:

The product details also name the breeders of the two parents. Blueberry Syrup, a cross of Blueberry and Humble Pie, comes from Social Genetics according to these, and Permafrost, made from Trainwreck and White Widow, from Rogue Buds. One strain description classes Blueberry Frost as a balanced hybrid with 50 % indica and 50 % sativa; the producer from Salmon Arm, on whom the origin details are based, describes its flowers as THC-dominant.

Cultivation:

This producer gives precise details on its own production. It cultivates indoors in coco fiber under 1000-watt sodium vapor lamps, hang-dries the harvest for 2 to 3 weeks, trims by hand and then lets the flowers cure in cool conditions for 2 weeks. An independent strain description also highlights the dense trichome coverage. The two differ on color: the producer speaks of purple to lilac flowers, the strain description of light green buds with barely visible violet tones and few orange pistils.

Aroma and Flavor:

The name suggests blueberry, and the producer describes the scent that way too: sweet like fresh berries, with earthy notes beneath and a sharper gasoline note at the end. One strain description speaks of overripe blueberries with hints of red wine and rum, yet places the flavor in cheese, diesel, citrus and floral notes. Another lists citrus and diesel instead of berry, along with mint, sourness and spice. Strain descriptions give pinene, limonene and ocimene as the leading terpenes, and one of them puts myrcene first.

In the user reports, cheese appears several times, once with a nutty touch; one report explicitly misses the blueberry flavor. One user calls the smell pungent, another simply unpleasant.

Effects:

The user reports do not add up to a uniform picture. Several describe a stimulating, head-centered onset with focus and talkativeness, followed by a longer relaxed phase; in one report this transition set in after about 10 minutes. Others found the strain strongly sedating, one rather weak. Euphoria, tingling, increased appetite and arousal are also mentioned. As accompanying effects, users report dry mouth and dry eyes, and strain descriptions additionally name dizziness and paranoia.

THC and CBD Content:

For the flowers from Salmon Arm, the producer states 26 to 32 % THC and 0 to 1 % CBD; a data sheet on the same product gives 28 to 32 % THC elsewhere. Strain descriptions are lower: one lists 17 % THC, another 21 to 22 %, a further one 21 %.
