Lemon Pepper
Lemon Pepper is a sativa-dominant cross of Lemon Pebblez and Lemon Cooler, created in a collaboration between Cookies and Rick Ross for the Collins Ave brand.
Lemon Pepper is the result of a collaboration between Cookies and the rapper Rick Ross. The strain belongs to their joint brand Collins Ave and was intended for the range of Lemonnade, the sister brand founded by Cookies founder Berner and Brett Wilson, which focuses on sativa-leaning strains. The cross combines the lemon lines Lemon Pebblez and Lemon Cooler; the name refers to the smell and taste, in which lemon meets pepper.
Genetics and Origin:
Alongside Lemon Pepper, Collins Ave includes the indica Collins Ave and the hybrid Pink Rozay. With the flavor profiles, the partners wanted to connect to Ross's roots in Miami. Lemon Pebblez is attributed to the Lemonnade team and traces back to Fruity Pebbles OG; the second parent is a Lemonade line, referred to as either The Original Lemonnade or Lemonade OG depending on the source. For Lemon Cooler, Ecto Cooler is named as one parent; the other parent is unknown.
The strain descriptions list Lemon Pepper as a sativa-dominant hybrid, and one of them puts the ratio at 70 % sativa and 30 % indica. A press review and a producer's product details confirm the lineage from Lemon Pebblez and Lemon Cooler. One single description deviates and places the strain in a Lemon Royale line made from Lemon Tree and GMO or TK Skunk, respectively; other sources do not support this claim.
Aroma and Flavor:
Lemon and black pepper form the core in the strain descriptions, complemented by pine, earthy and herbal tones and a hint of ammonia. The sources disagree on the sequence: one description places sour lemon on the inhale and pepper on the exhale, while another puts sharp pepper first and lets sugary lemon follow on the finish.
User reports confirm the pepper. One report finds the taste harsh and pungent, another compares the smell to pine cleaner, and a third describes lemon pepper with a honey glaze and fresh herbs. A press review, by contrast, emphasizes floral and sweet citrus notes. Visually, small, firm buds in bright light green with many orange hairs and dense resin coverage are described.
Effects:
In user reports, drive, focus and a lifted mood come first, several times combined with giddiness or a tingling in the body. Some consumers also describe relaxation, occasionally to the point of drowsiness, while others report hunger or talkativeness. One report describes a fast-onset, strong head effect with little body effect, and a press review a light, stimulating effect with a relaxing undertone that does not go strongly to the head.
Strain descriptions list dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness as side effects. Dry mouth also appears in one user report; in others, the smoke irritated the throat and airways and triggered coughing.
THC Content:
One strain description gives 18 % THC and 1 % CBG and lists pinene as the dominant terpene, followed by caryophyllene and linalool. Another description cites values from a single analysis, without naming the lab or date: 20.41 % THCA and 18.78 % THC, and among the terpenes 0.0644 % myrcene ahead of 0.0501 % caryophyllene and 0.0219 % alpha-pinene. The two sources thus contradict each other in the ranking of the terpenes.
Versions from Different Breeders:
A Lemon Pepper by Umami Seed Co is listed with the same parent strains, spelled there as Lemon Pebbles and Lemon Cooler. This version is described as predominantly sativa-leaning and is listed as feminized seeds; how it relates to the Cookies strain is not clear from the information. Umami Seed Co has used it for further crosses, including Lemon Pepper X Zuchi and Lemondary, made from Lemon Pepper and Zonuts.
