Turpee Slurpee

Two spellings circulate for this cross of GMO and Orange Zkittlez: Turpee Slurpee and Terpee Slurpee, along with the variant Terpee Slerpee. The original breeder is considered to be Surfr Seeds, an Oregon operation best known for Point Break and Trophy Wife. A strain review from December 2020 already names Surfr Seeds as the originator; it discusses flowers of a phenotype that a producer had selected from these seeds.

Genetics and Origin:

In the description of the regular seeds from Surfr Seeds, GMO is the mother and Orange Zkittlez the father. The figures for the indica share differ: the seed description gives an indica-dominant ratio of 60 to 40, while two strain descriptions state 70 % indica and 30 % sativa. Surfr Seeds has itself crossed the strain further, among others with Donny Burger to make Terpee Slurpee x Donny Burger.

Aroma and Flavor:

Citrus is in the foreground. Orange, lemon and lime are named, sweet with a sour edge, and the flavor is reminiscent of orange candy. The 2020 review stresses that the citrus note tastes of fresh orange peel and sweet lemonade and does not tip into soapiness.

The GMO parent does not go unnoticed. The seed description from Surfr Seeds lists gas and garlic alongside fruit and citrus, and individual consumers report garlic, onion and mushrooms, a sharp smell of ammonia, or skunk. Further single mentions range from pine through cherry and lilac to dill. One strain description also lists chemical notes, blueberry and diesel. Caryophyllene, myrcene and limonene are given as the prevailing terpenes in strain descriptions.

Effects:

The tenor of the user reports is stimulating. Consumers describe a distinct tingling in the body, drive, lifted mood and focus, often accompanied by creativity and talkativeness. Several reports also mention physical relaxation without feeling stuck in place; the 2020 review describes the effect similarly as active and functional with a relaxed body feel. In contrast, individual consumers found the strain drowsy and appetite-stimulating.

Dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness are named as side effects. One report describes paranoia, another pressure in the eyes and temples.

THC Content:

Strain descriptions give THC contents between 22 and 28 %, one of which additionally lists 1 % CBG.

Cultivation:

For the regular seeds from Surfr Seeds, 8 to 9 weeks of flowering indoors are stated, with an outdoor harvest in mid to late September. The same description gives the yield as 650 g/m² indoors and 1200 g per plant outdoors. It describes densely packed flowers with a rich coating of resin; one user report speaks of heavily frosted buds with orange pistils.

Versions from Different Breeders:

Alongside the regular line from Surfr Seeds, Sunwest Genetics lists a feminized version, likewise a cross of GMO and Orange Zkittlez. Sunwest Genetics states 8 to 10 weeks of flowering, a 400 g/m² indoor yield, 22 to 28 % THC and 0.6 % CBD for it. Genetically different is TRPY ZLRP from Canada, which Wagners describes as a cross of GMO and Orange Cookies.
