THC Bomb (original cutting) × Chemdawg (old line); genetics documented in the press article https://www.leafly.com/news/strains-products/new-strains-alert-2-2-2018. No cultivation figures from the breeder found.
also known as The Heatwave, Heat Wave
Heatwave is a cross of THC Bomb and Chemdawg by Oregon Cannabis Authority; Archive Seed Bank lists a strain made from Jet Fuel OG and Dosidos under the same name.
Reports on the effects of Heatwave differ. Several consumers describe a fast-onset, euphoric head effect with noticeable energy and no sedating heaviness; others found the strain dampening and drowsy, in one case only at a higher dose. The reports concern the cross of THC Bomb and Chemdawg by Oregon Cannabis Authority. Archive Seed Bank lists a genetically different strain under the name Heat Wave.
Oregon Cannabis Authority describes itself as a small family business that cultivates its own bred strains indoors in soil. For Heatwave, the breeder crossed an original cutting of THC Bomb with an old-line Chemdawg. Accounts of the classification differ. The breeder and other strain descriptions list Heatwave simply as a hybrid, while one further description calls it indica-dominant at 75 % indica and 25 % sativa; the alias The Heatwave also appears there. One user report, by contrast, gives 60 % sativa for the batch purchased.
Oregon Cannabis Authority describes the smell as skunky and musky at first, accompanied by some pine. For flavor, the breeder lists bubble hash, pine, musk and lemon with a light citrus aftertone and sees mainly the Chemdawg heritage in it. Other strain profiles emphasize spicy, musky earth tones with a hint of diesel, as well as pungent, sour and skunky notes and a sharp, chemical finish on the exhale.
Earthy tones recur in the user reports, several times combined with lemon, lime or gasoline. Individual consumers noticed a mushroom-like note, and another report mentions a sweet blend reminiscent of ripe bananas with pine and gas.
Euphoria and relaxation run through the reports, several times supplemented by good mood. Alongside these are descriptions of energy, focus and creativity, and occasionally a tingling in the body or increased desire. The breeder itself speaks of a relaxed high that stirs curiosity; one strain presentation calls the effect relaxing without being overly sedating. Strain descriptions list dry mouth as a side effect, one of them additionally dry eyes and paranoia. One report describes marked sluggishness.
The appearance of the flowers does not give a uniform impression either. Flowers are described as dense and compact in 2 reports, one of them calling them notably dry, and as loose and cone-shaped in a third. Fern- to mint-green flowers with orange pistils and golden to whitish shimmering trichome coverage are mentioned; one strain description speaks of small, roundish flowers with few hairs.
Oregon Cannabis Authority states 20 % THC and 0 % CBD. Another strain description gives 23 to 27 % THC, and a further one 1 % CBG.
The Heatwave plants from Oregon Cannabis Authority are described as squat and low-growing; relative to that size, their yields are considered decent.
The Heat Wave from Archive Seed Bank was bred from Jet Fuel OG and Dosidos and shares no parent strain with the Oregon Cannabis Authority cross. It is described as a regular, photoperiod strain. For flowering, the breeder's details give 63 to 70 days, elsewhere around 70 days; in addition come tall growth, a medium yield and suitability for indoor and outdoor cultivation.
Realpotency worked this version into 2 strains of its own. For Chem Rider it served as the father of an Uber from Cannarado Genetics, and in Butter Fuel it sits in the pedigree alongside Peanut Butter Breath.
