Monkey Balls

also known as Monkeyballs

IndicaTHC-dominant

Monkey Balls is an F2 from Hazeman Seeds out of Tom Hill's Deep Chunk, an indica of Afghan origin, and is available only as regular seed.

Research as of 11/06/2026

Feminized seeds of Monkey Balls never existed; Hazeman Seeds releases the strain exclusively as regular seed. In a grow documentation from October 2018 to February 2019, 2 male plants from it served as a pollen source: grown indoors in soil under LED light, they pollinated Deep Chunk and several newer strains. Genetically, Monkey Balls is itself an F2 from Tom Hill's Deep Chunk, an indica line of Afghan origin.

Cultivation:

Hazeman Seeds states a flowering time of 54 to 64 days and describes the plant as medium-tall and high-yielding. According to the breeder, it is intended for indoor and outdoor cultivation. Another project to preserve the line began in January 2023 with the germination of Hazeman seeds.

Genetics and Origin:

According to its own account, Hazeman Seeds had F1 seeds of Deep Chunk and raised an F2 from them, which was handed out as a free extra. The breeder announced it as an old strain to be re-released for the holidays. Deep Chunk by Tom Hill is listed on both sides of the pedigree, a broad-leaf line from Afghanistan that came to Northern California in the late 1970s. One grow documentation equates Monkey Balls with Deep Chunk.

Hazeman Seeds lists the strain as an indica, while other strain descriptions classify it as a hybrid.

There is a risk of confusion with Purple Monkey Balls. For that strain, one strain description names as parents a Northern Californian purple strain, either Mendo Purps or Granddaddy Purple, and presumably Deep Chunk. The names overlap on the market too: a flower product offered under the name Monkey Balls lists Granddaddy Purple × Afghani as its genetics, and in one user report the aroma recalled Afghan Kush with a hint of Granddaddy Purple.

As a parent, Monkey Balls is documented in 3 crosses. Pistl Positive Creations crossed it with Applesauce for Saucyballs and with Koko Puffs from Exotic Genetix for Skeeballs; Red-Eyed Weed Frog used it for Blue Space Fuel together with Blue Diamond from BioQueen Seeds.

Effects:

The common denominator of the user reports is relaxation and euphoria. Several reports additionally describe drowsiness or a tingling in the body, and Hazeman Seeds itself describes the effect as strong and long lasting. Alongside these are accounts in which the strain left users energized, talkative or focused, and in 2 reports also creative. Not every report describes a clear effect: one notes only a moderate effect, another none at all. Dry eyes, dry mouth and dizziness are mentioned as side effects, and in one case facial numbness.

Aroma and Flavor:

One strain description lists tea, pineapple and wood as flavor notes. The user reports diverge more widely: they describe herbs followed by a grape note, a pungent, slightly sweet smell, musk, dried fruit with an unclean undertone, and in one case a mix of butter, dill, tea and preserves with a tobacco-like draw. One report found smell and taste weak and the smoke harsh. Strain descriptions list mainly myrcene and caryophyllene as terpenes, with linalool in addition.

THC and CBD Content:

One strain description gives 27 % THC at 0 % CBD, another sets the THC content lower. One user report likewise gives 27 % THC for the product consumed.
