The Real McCoy × Skunk #1; breeder description passed down via SeedFinder and retailer sites, breeder site itself not accessible. Outdoor harvest late October.
Pineapple Punch is a cross of The Real McCoy and Skunk #1 by Flying Dutchmen with a pineapple aroma; 7 East Genetics lists a genetically different strain of the same name.
Pineapple Punch is a cross by the Dutch seed company Flying Dutchmen: a selected plant of the Hawaiian-influenced strain The Real McCoy was pollinated with a Skunk #1 male, which the breeder calls a backcross. For growers attached to the Hawaiian line, this should offer more genetic breadth. Compared with the mother, Flying Dutchmen describes the plants as more compact, with a stronger Skunk influence, heavy flowers and a pronounced pineapple aroma.
By its own account, Flying Dutchmen goes back to a founder named Eddie, who had been distributing seeds wholesale since 1984 and worked with the breeder known as Skunkman, who brought Skunk #1 over from the USA. The retail store followed in 1998. Pineapple Punch was released there only as regular seed. Strain descriptions classify the cross as sativa-dominant, some with 70 % and some with 75 % sativa.
At the 2009 IC 420 Growers Cup in Amsterdam, a Pineapple Punch entered by a grower placed in the sativa category. The surviving result lists disagree on where: one puts it in 2nd place in the grower category, another in 5th place. As a parent, the strain appears in, among others, Pineapple Cubez from Pheno Finder Seeds and Pineapple Gold from Cannabella Genetics.
Pineapple dominates smell and taste in all descriptions, accompanied by sweet citrus notes and tropical fruit, once explicitly mango. One strain description adds earthy and woody tones to the smell and orange and pine to the taste. A user report highlights the strong skunk smell of the flowers; the taste there matched the name. One strain description names terpinolene, pinene and myrcene as the dominant terpenes.
The breeder already described the effect as very cerebral, and user reports paint a similar picture: they mention drive, focus, creativity, elevated mood and talkativeness, and several also mention an effect on libido. One report notes that the strain kept the user awake into the evening when consumed after early afternoon; another found it stronger than expected.
Reported side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes, dizziness, nervousness and paranoia. An older strain description puts the tendency toward paranoia in the foreground; the user reports on the same page do not confirm this. Unlike the other sources, Auto Seeds describes the effect of its autoflower version as body-centered, up to couchlock.
For the Flying Dutchmen line, older strain descriptions give 13 to 15 % THC. One measured value exists for a hemp flower from the US market whose lineage is not stated: Badger Labs determined 37.15 % THCA in a single measurement in 2025, calculated as 32.58 % total THC.
Flying Dutchmen gives 9 to 10 weeks of flowering for indoor cultivation; outdoors in the Netherlands, harvest is due in late October. For outdoor cultivation, several descriptions require a warm climate with a long summer and consider an experienced grower necessary.
According to strain descriptions, 2 phenotypes can be expected from seed. One grows tall and sativa-like with narrow leaves and wide internode spacing; the other stays shorter, forms broader leaves and tighter nodes and yields more. Indoor yields of 300 to 500 g/m² are given. Soil is considered the preferred medium and hydroponics possible, with organic feeding in low to medium amounts recommended. Toward the end of flowering, one description advises supporting the branches; a user report calls the flowers dense and resinous.
Auto Seeds crossed Pineapple Punch with a ruderalis and lists the result as feminized Pineapple Punch Automatic. The breeder gives a height of 50 to 80 cm and at least 65 days from seed to harvest, but recommends 70 to 80 days; it describes the flavor as sweet and fruity with pineapple and grapefruit. Another strain description lists Grapefruit and Pineapple as parents of this version. In a user report, plants from these seeds had not begun to flower after 4 months.
The strain of the same name from 7 East Genetics has nothing in common with the original. For its F1, the breeder combined a Pineapple male (Kali Snapple × Ms Universe) from Vagabond Seeds with a PCK female and crossed the best F1 plant back to the Pineapple side to build an inbred line. 7 East Genetics gives 65 to 75 days of flowering and above-average yield, puts tested THC values at 25 to 27 % and warns that the plants are quickly over-fertilized. According to the breeder, the aroma ranges from pineapple juice through cherry to fuel notes. It exists only as regular seed.
A Pineapple Punch described as a cross of Pineapple Express and Durban also appears in US retail.

For outdoor cultivation, a warm, sunny climate with a long summer (Herbies); warm climate required (ILGM).
2 phenotypes described: tall and sativa-like with narrow leaves and wide internodes, or shorter, broader leaves, tighter nodes, higher yield (Leafly, Kind Green Buds). Breeder: thick, heavy flowers, more compact than The Real McCoy. User report: dense, resinous flowers. Leafly: soil preferred, hydro possible, low to medium organic nutrient doses.
Kind Green Buds recommends supporting the branches toward the end of flowering.
Several breeders sell their own versions under this name. Each figure comes from the respective breeder.

F1 from Pineapple male (Kali Snapple × Ms Universe) from Vagabond Seeds and PCK female, best F1 plant backcrossed to the Pineapple side (IBL). Yield above average according to the breeder, very sensitive to overfeeding; aroma pineapple juice, fruity, cherry, fuel.
Pineapple Punch × unknown ruderalis; according to the breeder ready for harvest at 65 days from seed at the earliest, 70 to 80 days from seed recommended (figure given in days, not converted). Flavor sweet and fruity with pineapple and grapefruit, body-centered effect with couchlock. CannaConnection differs, naming Grapefruit, Pineapple and ruderalis as parents.
Measurements of individual samples. Values vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype.
User reports describe the effect as stimulating and cerebral, with drive, focus, creativity, elevated mood and talkativeness; an effect on libido is mentioned several times. Pineapple flavor, dense and resinous flowers.
One report mentions nervousness and a stronger effect than expected, another that the strain keeps people awake late in the day. AllBud and Auto Seeds (autoflower version) describe couchlock and paranoia respectively, which contradicts the user reports. One report on the autoflower version from Auto Seeds states that the plants had not begun to flower after 4 months.
