also known as Truffles, Trufflez, Purple Truffle, Purple Truffles
Trufflez, also known as Truffle, comes from Aficionado Seed Collection and traces back to Zkittlez and Cherry Noir; its scent is described as fruity and sweet by some, coffee-like by others.
Cherry candies, strawberry gummies and orange over a floral base: this is how the scent of fresh flowers of Trufflez is described, a strain from Aficionado Seed Collection in California's Mendocino County, also listed as Truffle, Truffles or Purple Truffle. For flavor, the same descriptions name butter, salted caramel, cheese and gas. Consumer reports set other emphases, including coffee and a sweetish ammonia note.
Several reports put coffee in the foreground, accompanied by that ammonia note; caramel or chocolate is noticed on the inhale. Occasionally consumers describe honey, floral notes and red peppercorns, the smoke as smooth and milky in some cases and harsh in others, and a few found the flowers unremarkable in flavor. Other strain descriptions list both directions side by side, cherry, citrus and sweetness as well as coffee, nuts, caramel and earth. Caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene are given as the defining terpenes, in some cases supplemented by linalool.
There are two readings of the lineage. Short profiles name only Zkittlez and Cherry Noir as parents. More detailed accounts describe a cross of Zkittlez and Cherry Noir that Aficionado then pollinated with a male White Cherry Truffle. That father plant in turn descends from Cherry Noir and Highland Afghani; Cherry Noir is an Aficionado cross of Chemdawg Special Reserve and Cherry Lime #4.
Several profiles classify Trufflez as an indica-dominant hybrid, while one description speaks of a roughly balanced ratio of indica and sativa traits. According to the available information, there were no feminized seeds of the Aficionado version.
The strain appears as a parent in several crosses. Aficionado combined it with Runtz to make Candyshop, Elev8 Seeds with Chili Verde to make Jade Noir. Pink Truffle by Cannabis Dynasty goes back to Pink Kush and Truffle, Gas Truffle by Good Day Farm to Grape Gasoline and Truffle.
A quick onset is described, with light tingling, elevated mood and talkativeness. Later the effect shifts increasingly into the body, to the point of sluggishness and drowsiness. Relaxation and good mood run through the consumer reports. Some report focus, creativity or drive at the same time, which contrasts with the heavy, sleepy impressions of others. One consumer felt restless at first while smoking before it subsided; another describes strong physical heaviness after concentrates. Dry mouth, dry eyes and headaches are named as side effects.
Figures in strain descriptions range from 15 to 25 % THC. Named are the span of 15 to 25 %, a narrower one of 20 to 25 % with only small amounts of other cannabinoids, and a single value of 23 %.
Plants of the Aficionado line are described as medium-tall and bushy; they flower comparatively fast, deliver decent yields and can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Strain descriptions put flowering at 8 to 9 weeks. One of them places the outdoor harvest between late September and early October and rates the strain as susceptible to powdery mildew and mold. Difficulty assessments range from moderate to demanding.
According to the descriptions, mature flowers show a mix of light green, pink and purple, along with long orange pistils and a thick layer of trichomes. In consumer reports the impressions diverge: some describe dense, light green, frosted flowers, others dry buds with purple hairs that crumble easily and barely stick. Bud size also varied between batches.
A genetically different strain circulates under the same name, an indica-dominant cross of Runtz and Jet Fuel Gelato. One strain description attributes it to the breeder Wyeast, two others to the producer Local Grove from Michigan. Premium Cultivars, by contrast, lists a Trufflez with the parents Zkittlez and Cherry Noir and itself points out that the history of the strain is not fully clarified.

One source names temperate temperatures; another recommends 70 to 80 °F at low humidity (https://www.nuggmd.com/strains/trufflez).
Medium-tall and bushy, comparatively fast flowering (strain description referring to the breeder). Consumer reports contradictory on bud structure: dense, light green, frosted flowers versus dry, easily crumbling, barely sticky buds with purple hairs; bud size varying between batches.
Several breeders sell their own versions under this name. Each figure comes from the respective breeder.

Relaxing, increasingly body-centered effect with good mood, tingling and later drowsiness; in the aroma repeatedly coffee and a sweetish ammonia note, plus caramel or chocolate on the inhale.
Some report focus, creativity or drive instead of heaviness; one report mentions initial restlessness while smoking, another strong heaviness after concentrates. Flavor described in part as unremarkable, smoke in part as harsh, in part as smooth. Flowers sometimes dense and frosted, sometimes dry and crumbly, bud size varying.
