Blueberry AK
also known as Blue AK-47, Blueberry AK-47, Blue AK
Blueberry AK is a cross of Blueberry and AK-47 with an unresolved breeder; berry, musky and peppery aromas are described.
Who first crossed Blueberry AK is unresolved. Several strain descriptions list the breeder as unknown or speak of a hybrid of uncertain origin; a single one credits the strain to G13 Labs. The parents, however, are undisputed: Blueberry and AK-47. A 2022 test report from Illinois places the Blueberry side in the line of DJ Short. The names Blue AK-47, Blueberry AK-47 and Blue AK are also in circulation.
Genetics and Origin:
In the descriptions, Blueberry is treated as the indica-leaning parent and AK-47 as the sativa-leaning one. For the cross itself, several sources give a balanced ratio of 50 % indica to 50 % sativa. Another lists it as sativa-dominant, while in a user report it appears slightly indica-leaning.
Aroma and Flavor:
The base scent is described as strong and musky, overlaid with berries, sweet blueberry, skunk and pepper. One description adds earth, pine and wood. Flavor ranges from sweet Kush tones to peppery sharpness; grape, chemical notes and a spicy finish are also named. Clearly different, another account speaks of tart grapes with lemon, lime and menthol.
The 2022 test report found only a faint earthy note in the intact flowers. Once broken open, they showed cheese and pastry notes; in the smoke, campfire, black pepper, skunk and cinnamon bark were added, and in the taste a note of cherry Danish.
Effects:
Users describe a balanced effect that induces euphoria and relaxes the body, according to several reports without paralyzing heaviness. Good spirits, giggling, elevated mood and hunger recur. Some reports highlight focus and creativity, others drowsiness. They disagree on strength: accounts range from rather mild effects to a fast, strong onset.
Reported side effects are dry mouth, headache, dizziness and heavy eyes. Strain descriptions add dry eyes, paranoia and heart palpitations.
THC and CBD Content:
Several strain descriptions give 18 to 20 % THC, while others deviate clearly from this, downward as well as upward. For CBD, values of up to 1 % are given; one description sets the content considerably higher. Another also lists 1 % CBG.
Lab Results:
One single measurement is documented, reported by the 2022 test report; it names no lab. The batch sold in Illinois came in at 18.28 % THCA. It listed limonene, β-caryophyllene, β-myrcene and α-humulene as the main terpenes, each just under 0.5 %. Other strain descriptions, by contrast, name myrcene as the dominant terpene, one of them followed by pinene and limonene; another lists myrcene, caryophyllene and pinene.
Cultivation:
Several descriptions give a flowering time of 7 to 9 weeks. Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, harvest falls between late September and mid-October according to 2 sources. Several sources rate cultivation as moderately difficult, one as easy. One source names a temperate climate and Sea of Green and Screen of Green as suitable methods.
Plants are described as sturdy and medium-sized, with dark green foliage and numerous side shoots. At low temperatures they are said to turn bluish to purple, according to one description.
