Dogwalker OG is a Chem cross with an Albert Walker line from the breeder One Eye in the US Pacific Northwest, passed on mainly as a cutting.

Research as of 11/03/2026

Sources disagree on the exact parentage of Dogwalker OG, but hardly on its origin: the strain goes back to the breeder One Eye from the Pacific Northwest of the USA. One strain description lists it as a cross of Chemdog #4 with an Albert Walker x OG Kush plant, and a strain review from 2020 names the same line. The shorter form Albert Walker OG x Chemdawg 91 is more widespread. According to a grow guide, no original seeds exist; the strain is passed on as a cutting.

Genetics and Origin:

Albert Walker is a cutting from the Pacific Northwest with unclear ancestry; an old Afghani-Skunk line is suspected. The plant became known in the 1980s and 1990s around Grateful Dead concerts. Anyone who names Albert Walker OG as a parent means the same cross with OG Kush that also appears in One Eye's pedigree. That leaves only the Chem side in dispute, either Chemdog #4 or Chemdawg 91.

An industry article from 2022 describes One Eye as a selector whose terpene profiles have made a name for themselves, and cites Dogwalker as an example. Two more recent strain descriptions, on the other hand, attribute the strain to Karma Genetics without supporting this. The classification varies as well: one description lists Dogwalker OG as a balanced hybrid, two others as indica-dominant with 80 % indica and 20 % sativa.

As a parent, the strain appears in, among others, Cream Walker by Makena Genetics, Dog Eat Dog by Higher Love, Larry Walker OG by Massive Seeds, Hot Dog OG by Anthony Renee Genetics and Dogwalker x Afghani #1 by Green Bodhi. Oregon Green Seed crossed it with Oregon Grown OG to make Oregon Dogwalker. The stated aims were larger plants, more yield and a shorter flowering time, for which the breeder gives 56 to 63 days.

Versions from Different Breeders:

Under the almost identical name Dog Walker, Riot Seeds lists a strain with a different pedigree: Albert Walker crossed with a male WCD 710. Riot Seeds gives regular seeds and 9 weeks of flowering and describes a partly purple coloring. A grow guide presents this line as a seed version of Dogwalker OG, but it shares only the Albert Walker parent with One Eye's Chem cross.

Aroma and Flavor:

Two descriptions compare the smell to wet dog, alongside skunk, earth and a sharp chemical note. A review in the Portland weekly newspaper Willamette Week highlighted woody and peppery notes with a Kush undertone in 2014 and found the pine-like flavor weaker than the aroma. Later reports mention diesel and gasoline, a sharpness reminiscent of cleaning products and a sour finish on the exhale.

Which terpenes dominate is not clear. One strain description names limonene, myrcene and caryophyllene, another points to an analysis by Analytical 360 with humulene and alpha-pinene at the top.

THC Content:

The same review from 2014 reported a verified value of 29.3 % THC for a sample from Portland. This is a single measurement without a publicly viewable certificate. Strain descriptions give 24 to 26 %.

Effects:

Reports mainly describe physical relaxation that turns into drowsiness and couch lock as the amount increases; several consumers therefore associate the strain with the evening. Tingling from head to legs and calm concentration are also mentioned, along with food cravings. Other consumers see it differently: some describe a stimulating, talkative effect at the start that only later turns to calm, and others notice no sedation. Reported side effects are dry and heavy eyes, dry mouth, mild dizziness and nervousness.

Cultivation:

One strain description calls the plant light-sensitive and gives a harvest in mid to late October for outdoor cultivation, a grow guide mid-October. For indoor cultivation, 9 to 10 weeks of flowering are given. Two descriptions rate cultivation as moderately difficult. User reports describe dense flowers heavily covered in trichomes, with orange hairs.

Community Experiences:

Impressions differ on the strength of the effect. Some consumers with high tolerance report an effect stronger than they are used to, while others needed larger amounts or noticed hardly anything with vaporizer cartridges. A long-time consumer observed that the pungent smell fades noticeably after about 8 months of storage.
