According to a strain description, also known as Chem Del La Chem, predominantly indica, indoor cultivation, never available as feminized seeds.
Chem de la Chem
also known as La Chem, ChemD I95, Chem Del La Chem, CDLC
Chem de la Chem crosses Chem D with I-95 from the Top Dawg Seeds program; sources disagree on whether the gassy, creamy strain leans more indica or sativa.
US producers report between 2.47 and 2.79 % terpenes for individual batches of Chem de la Chem, and the same main components recur in their analyses: caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene. For a batch from Illinois, humulene, bisabolol and linalool are named alongside them, while a producer from Massachusetts lists pinene and humulene. One strain description puts limonene first, followed by caryophyllene and pinene. Genetically, it is a cross of Chem D and I-95 that is traced back to Top Dawg Seeds and is also known as ChemD I95 or Chem Del La Chem.
THC and CBD Content:
Batch figures from producers range from 23.76 to 36.26 % THC; where THCA is reported, they run from 24.94 to 38.92 %. Such values vary with batch, cultivation and phenotype. For CBD, one producer gives 0.18 %. Strain descriptions put THC considerably lower, with figures of 18 % or 23 to 24 %; another gives a range of 18 to 30 %.
Genetics and Origin:
Chem D is considered the mother and I-95 the father. The father was developed by JJNYC and Money Mike at Top Dawg Seeds by pollinating a female Triangle Kush × Legend OG with a selected male Stardawg IX2. A product description from Maryland, by contrast, names a US cannabis producer as the originator of Chem de la Chem.
Sources disagree on classification. The description of the Top Dawg version speaks of a predominantly indica-leaning strain, other descriptions list it as a sativa or as a sativa-dominant hybrid with 60 % sativa and 40 % indica, and a producer from Massachusetts as indica-dominant. As a parent, the strain is documented in Heatseeker, a cross with Spiked Mai Tai.
Aroma and Flavor:
Fuel and a chemical sharpness define the smell: gasoline, diesel and hot rubber are described, along with pine, earth, herbs, pepper and citrus. In the taste, a sweet, creamy component is added, which user reports describe as far as vanilla-like, occasionally with a peppery aftertaste. A press report from Illinois describes chem, kush and skunk with orange, spice and lavender on the inhale, and earthiness and now and then creamy sweetness on the exhale.
Effects:
Reports diverge. Some describe a fast-onset, head-centered effect with focus, creativity and drive; a press report speaks of concentration lasting for hours with mild physical relaxation and temporary head fog at higher doses. Other consumers reported a heavy, rather sedating effect up to drowsiness despite the common classification as a sativa, and a Canadian producer also describes the effect as heavy. Strain descriptions list dry mouth, dry eyes, headache, dizziness, nervousness and paranoia as side effects.
Cultivation:
One strain description gives a flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks, rates cultivation as moderately difficult and emphasizes an intense fuel smell during flowering. The description of the Top Dawg version assigns the strain to indoor cultivation. Described are dense, shovel-shaped flowers with heavy trichome coverage, large calyxes and brown to orange hairs; a Canadian producer speaks of large, gnarly buds.
How far phenotypes can lie apart is shown by a producer from Pennsylvania that released 2 selections in 2019. Phenotype #5 smells of leather, chem and funk and carries visibly heavy resin, while phenotype #2 has the typical Chem structure and smells of pine and diesel with sweet incense and grapefruit.
Versions from Different Breeders:
Top Dawg Seeds offered ChemD I95 only as regular seeds. Deep Space Creations has continued working on the line over several filial generations: for its version Chem Del La Chem, CDLC for short, one strain description names a feminized F3/S1 line for indoor and outdoor cultivation with a flowering time of 56 to 65 days, while another additionally mentions an F4. Green Dot Labs lists an S1 line under the name Chem de la Chem S1 and describes its aroma as gasoline, earth and sour.
