also known as Donnie Burger, GMO BX
Donny Burger is a cross of GMO and Han Solo Burger from Skunk House Genetics in Michigan; descriptions highlight garlic, onion and cheese in the aroma.
Donny Burger comes from the circle around the breeder Skunkmasterflex in Michigan. It is a cross of GMO and Han Solo Burger, and Skunk House Genetics is considered its original breeder. In its breeder description, the company claims to have created GMO and to have founded the Burger line. Since Han Solo Burger itself came from GMO and Larry OG, Donny Burger is essentially a backcross to GMO, and strain descriptions therefore also list it as GMO BX. The spelling Donnie Burger is also in use.
The pedigree overview for the strain traces GMO back to Chem D and a Girl Scout Cookies selection, and Han Solo Burger to GMO Cookies and Larry OG Kush. A grow documentation on an offspring instead names GMO and Larry F8 as the parents of Donny Burger; all other sources checked give Han Solo Burger as the second parent.
The strain was in circulation by 2020 at the latest, when an Oregon cannabis magazine showed a Donny Burger selection on its cover in June. According to the available information, Skunk House released it exclusively as regular seed and itself crossed it further into Double Burger and Papa Burger. Other companies also used it as a parent, for example The Bakery Genetics for Bison Burger, Happy Valley Genetics for Haze Burger, Atlas Seed for Burger Breath with Mendo Breath and The Ranch for Burgers n’ Beer with Rootbeer BC2.
Savory notes of garlic and onion dominate the descriptions, accompanied by cheese, black pepper and a fuel note. Individual sources additionally mention ammonia, pine, earth or lemon. Consumers describe the flavor as spicy and meaty with cheese and pepper, and some notice a slight berry sweetness underneath. A detailed test report recorded floral and spicy impressions on the inhale and garlic, wood, pine and a musty skunk note on the exhale.
User reports describe an elevated, often silly and cheerful mood at the start, followed by pronounced physical relaxation. At higher amounts, strong sedation to the point of reluctance to move is mentioned, several times also drowsiness; an effect of increased desire is also named. A test report describes declining concentration, a dull feeling in the forehead area and mild stomach discomfort. Consumers name dry mouth, dry eyes and headaches as side effects.
Strain descriptions give 27 % THC for Donny Burger. A single measurement published by a California producer without naming the lab or date comes in higher, at 30.66 % THC with 34.41 % THCA. CBD was not detectable in this sample, and CBG reached 0.12 %. Total terpene content was 3.00 %, led by limonene at 0.89 %, just ahead of beta-caryophyllene at 0.64 % and myrcene at 0.63 %, followed by alpha-humulene at 0.28 %. In strain profiles, by contrast, caryophyllene ranks first, ahead of limonene and myrcene.
Feminized versions have been released by Philosopher Seeds and Blimburn Seeds; both state the same pedigree of GMO and Han Solo Burger. The details differ by version:
Independent strain descriptions paint a more demanding picture than the breeders do. The description from a California clone nursery gives a stretch of 1.5 to 2 times after the switch to 12/12 and a high nutrient demand, and rates the strain for intermediate to advanced growers; topping, LST and a support net are provided for. Another strain profile speaks of moderate stretch and measured feeding but, because of the dense flowers, calls for strong air movement and controlled humidity. Both consistently highlight the very intense smell during flowering.
