The smell comes up most often in user reports on Gas Breath: consumers describe it as strongly fuel-like, with diesel and chemical notes. Accounts of the effects diverge, ranging from drive and talkativeness on one side to relaxation on the other. Strain descriptions trace the strain to a cross of Mendo Breath and OGKB; a line with a different pedigree is also in circulation under the same name.
Community Experiences:
The evaluation covered 6 user reports from 2023 to 2025, relating to flowers, extracts and vape cartridges. Where they describe the aroma, fuel comes first, combined with diesel, chemical tones and sweetness. One report compares the taste to lemon and diesel, another highlights pine and citrus, and a third describes woody tones and an herbal aftertaste.
3 reports describe a stimulating course with energy, focus, creativity or talkativeness. 4 mention relaxation, in 3 cases together with euphoria, once also with cheerfulness. The two are not mutually exclusive: one report combines focus and creativity with relaxation. As unwanted effects, individual reports mention dizziness and dry eyes; in one case the smoke was perceived as harsh and scratchy in the throat.
The accounts contradict each other on the appearance of the flowers. One strain description speaks of chunky, resin-rich buds in green with purple tones, whereas one user report describes loose, light green flowers.
Genetics and Origin:
Several strain descriptions name Mendo Breath and OGKB as parents, in some cases in the long form OG Kush Breath. They disagree on classification: one rates Gas Breath as a sativa-leaning hybrid with 70 % sativa and 30 % indica, another as a balanced hybrid.
Aroma and Flavor:
The strain descriptions confirm the focus on diesel and fuel. They also list lemon, chemical and spicy notes, plus a sweet side with vanilla and creamy hints. One description adds berry, cheese and citrus and speaks of a sour, sharp undertone. As the dominant terpene, 2 descriptions give caryophyllene, followed by myrcene; in third place one has pinene, the other limonene.
Effects:
The strain descriptions also summarize the reported effects differently. One stresses drive, talkativeness and creativity. A second names relaxation and sleepiness and describes a slow-onset course in which a talkative, creative phase is followed by a calmer one. A third combines euphoria and creativity with calm and an elevated mood. As side effects, the first lists dry eyes, dry mouth and paranoia.
THC and CBD Content:
For THC there are 2 figures from strain descriptions: 20 % in one, 22 to 23 % in the other. The first puts the CBD content at 0 %. A user report from 2025 gives the stated values of 18.85 % THC and 0.05 % CBD for a batch of flowers harvested in Michigan.
Versions from Different Breeders:
The Gas Breath from Captain Seeds has a different pedigree. The seller describes it as a feminized cross of OG Kush and Sour Diesel. According to its information, this version flowers indoors in 8 to 10 weeks, reaches 80 to 150 cm there and yields 450 to 600 g/m². For THC, Captain Seeds states 24 to 28 %, for CBD 0.1 to 0.6 %, and as terpenes myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene. The seller describes the aroma as diesel with earthy undertones and pine.
Captain Seeds rates cultivation as intermediate and names a temperate to warm climate with low to medium humidity as suitable. According to the seller, the plant is prone to powdery mildew and spider mites; early training with LST or SCROG is recommended.
