Original cross OGKB × Mendo Montage, circulated only as a clone; used by the breeder as a parent for several of its own breeding projects.
also known as Mendo Breath F2, Mendobreath
Mendo Breath crosses OGKB with Mendo Montage and comes from Gage Green Genetics; vanilla and caramel notes and a heavy, relaxing effect are described.
Reports on Mendo Breath usually describe a heavy, relaxing body effect that can extend to drowsiness. Alongside these stand accounts of drive, concentration and silliness. The cross of OGKB, also called OG Kush Breath, and Mendo Montage comes from Gage Green Genetics; Atlas Seed places its origin in Mendocino County in California.
Reports describe an onset in the head with a lifted, cheerful mood, followed by tingling in the limbs and deep physical relaxation. Drowsiness is mentioned repeatedly, and one account also mentions being stuck on the couch. Whether the effect sets in quickly or with a delay is described differently across reports.
Other consumers reported the opposite: energy, focus, creativity and giggling, or a relaxation in which the head stayed alert. A review from 2022 describes a slow build-up with a calm head, followed by pressure around the forehead and a warm, heavy body effect.
Dry mouth and dry eyes are listed as side effects. One report describes nervousness, dizziness and paranoid thoughts after a very strong initial head effect, another a spaced-out feeling in which the legs felt disconnected.
For the F2, Gage Green Genetics describes vanilla, caramel and mint chocolate mixed with fresh berries. Other strain descriptions list vanilla, caramel, pepper and earth. User reports mention vanilla with fuel and berries, coffee with vanilla, a sharp kush note with a diesel edge, almond milk, and a floral, spicy taste. The 2022 review records caramel and cream up front, with wood, malt and tobacco on the finish.
A documented indoor grow of the F1 clone departs clearly from this: the grower smelled lilac, violet and apricot, tasted acidity, sage and lilac, and noted that the scent clung to the fingers for a long time.
According to Gage Green Genetics, OGKB traces back through Girl Scout Cookies to OG Kush and Durban Poison. Mendo Montage, the paternal line, came from Mendo Purps and Crystal Locomotive; a report from 2017 points to Purps and Trainwreck portions in this father. The F1 circulated only as a clone, and seeds arrived with the F2. The strain is classified inconsistently, sometimes as an indica, sometimes as an indica-dominant hybrid, sometimes simply as a hybrid.
Gage Green Genetics used the F1 as a parent in several of its own breeding projects. Thug Pug Genetics crossed Do-Si-Dos with the F2 to make Peanut Butter Breath, and Atlas Seed in turn combined that with its own Mendo Breath selection to make Mendo Butter. The 2017 report stresses that Mendo Breath passes purple coloring and dense trichome coverage on to its offspring.
Gage Green Genetics lists several generations. For the F1, around 60 days of flowering are given. The F2 was released as regular seed with 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, up to 10 weeks in individual phenotypes, and medium yield. According to the breeder, flowering time varies widely between phenotypes, and only a small share of the plants turns purple. Two F3 lines came out of F2 plants: Variation M with around 60 days, medium yield and the rock-hard calyxes of OGKB at normal vegetative growth, and Variation 2 with 8 to 9 weeks, medium to high yield and spear-shaped flowers covered in purple.
Atlas Seed distributes a feminized selection from F1 plants. On its own site the breeder gives 65 to 70 days of flowering, elsewhere 60 days, along with 20 to 28 % THC, compact growth with little need for support, purple coloring toward the end of flowering and good resistance to gray mold.
Barney's Farm gives Grape Kush Breath and Mendo Montage as parents, so a different first parent line from the original. The feminized version is said to be 70 % indica, to flower indoors in 56 to 70 days, to reach 100 to 120 cm and to yield up to 500 g/m². For outdoors the breeder gives 150 to 180 cm, over 1000 g per plant and harvest in early October, and states the THC content as up to 22 %.
The documented indoor grow of the F1 clone in coco mats under 600 W shows an idiosyncratic plant. After the changeover it stretched by around 250 %, from about 20 to about 70 cm, and formed hardly any side shoots. Flowers grew almost only on the main stem, very dense and with little leaf mass; when dried they were hard and compact. Harvest came after 56 days of flowering, and the yield was 12 g per plant at most. No mold appeared, and the plants tolerated temperature swings.
Another description of the breeder cut portrays a compact plant of medium height with bushy growth and strong side branches, moderate stretch and good suitability for topping and SCROG; flowering time is given there as 8 to 10 weeks.
Test values published by producers exist for individual batches; the labs are not named. One flower batch came in at 22.4 % total THC, 2 others at 24.3 and 25.3 % THCA; values vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype. In the sample with 24.3 % THCA, 3.28 % terpenes were measured, led by beta-caryophyllene ahead of alpha-humulene, limonene, myrcene and linalool. A report from 2025 gives 22 % THC for a New York batch and likewise caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene as main terpenes, with less than 1.5 % terpenes in total. A live resin extract reached 75.26 % total THC and 6.39 % terpenes.

A grow report on the F1 clone gives a stretch of ±250 % (from about 20 to about 70 cm); a description of the breeder cut gives moderate stretch. No factor given.
Grow report on the F1 clone: spindly growth with very small side shoots, flowers almost only on the main stem, hard and compact when dried. A description of the breeder cut, by contrast, gives compact, bushy growth of medium height with strong side branches.
Suitability for topping and SCROG according to the description of the breeder cut; defoliation and light training are also recommended there.
Several breeders sell their own versions under this name. Each figure comes from the respective breeder.

Individual reports describe energy, focus, creativity and giggling, or relaxation with an alert head. One report mentions nervousness, dizziness and paranoia after a strong onset in the head. A grow report on the F1 clone describes a divergent aroma (lilac, violet, apricot) and spindly growth, whereas a description of the breeder cut gives compact, bushy growth.
