Lemon Gelato
At Grandiflora Genetics, Lemon Gelato combines Sunset Sherbet, Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and Lemon Haze; Elev8 Seeds lists its own version from Gelato #33 and Lemon Tree.
Two crosses with different pedigrees circulate under the name Lemon Gelato. The better documented one goes back to Grandiflora Genetics and combines Sunset Sherbet, Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and Lemon Haze. Elev8 Seeds from Salem, Oregon lists a cross of Gelato #33 and Lemon Tree under the same name.
Genetics and Origin:
Strain descriptions name Grandiflora Genetics as the breeder of the three-way cross and classify it as an indica-dominant hybrid; the breeder's own description speaks of only a slight indica dominance. Sunset Sherbet itself traces back to Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties. Lemon Haze contributes Colombian sativa material, and its lineage includes Santa Marta Gold, Wacky Weed and Colombia. Not every source reproduces the pedigree in full: one description names only Sherbet and Thin Mint as parents and leaves out Lemon Haze.
The Grandiflora line has gone into further crosses. Grandiflora Genetics crossed it into Eastmont, which also involves Project 4516. Lit Farms combined the Lemon Gelato #44 phenotype with Watermelon Gelato #42 to make Rainbow Gelato.
Aroma and Flavor:
Lemon and blueberry over a sweet base note reminiscent of sherbet, finishing earthier and woodier: several strain descriptions give this profile, and Grandiflora Genetics also names sherbet sweetness with blueberry and lemon. For its own version, Elev8 Seeds pairs fresh lemon with cookie-like sweetness and the creaminess of Gelato #33.
Individual user reports differ markedly. One describes a smell of blue cheese, milder and sweeter than that and with a citrus component; another found the taste more floral than fruity. A report on a concentrate mentions a smell of rotten eggs. For the Elev8 version, a customer report points to a musky phenotype that smells strong even during the growth phase.
The leading terpenes in 2 strain descriptions are myrcene, caryophyllene and pinene, both with myrcene in first place. Limonene, which the name suggests, appears in neither list.
Effects:
Grandiflora Genetics describes a cerebral onset with lifted mood and slightly focused energy, without sedation. For the Elev8 Seeds version, the breeder names an initially euphoric effect that shifts into physical relaxation while the head stays clear.
Relaxation, euphoria, creativity, giddiness and a tingling in the body recur in the user reports. Some describe a quick, activating onset with more concentration, others a strong body effect that settles you into a seat without pinning you down completely. One report puts the duration of effects at 60 to 90 minutes. A customer describes the musky phenotype of the Elev8 version as strongly subduing. Dry mouth, dry eyes and dizziness are named as side effects.
THC Content:
One strain description lists Lemon Gelato at 18 % THC and 1 % CBG. Elev8 Seeds gives 17 to 25 % THC for its own version, depending on the phenotype.
Cultivation:
The Grandiflora version is listed for indoor and outdoor cultivation. Grow reports describe clumpy, sticky flowers with dark green foliage, with bright orange and purple pistils and an amber resin coating. Another description paints a different picture: light green flowers, dark orange hairs and only light trichome coverage.
Versions from Different Breeders:
- Grandiflora Genetics: Sunset Sherbet × Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies × Lemon Haze, slightly indica-dominant, listed for indoor and outdoor cultivation.
- Elev8 Seeds: Gelato #33 × Lemon Tree, feminized only, 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, outdoor harvest in October, medium to high yields indoors, over 600 g per plant outdoors, 17 to 25 % THC; the breeder describes the flowers as completely covered in resin.
