London Pound Cake is an indica-dominant strain from Cookies, bred from Sunset Sherbet and an undisclosed parent, also known as selection #75.

Research as of 09/27/2026

London Pound Cake gained wider recognition around 2018, according to a US terpene manufacturer's dating. The indica-dominant hybrid was bred by the Californian brand Cookies, which also operates as a breeder under the name Cookie Fam Genetics. Of the two parents, only Sunset Sherbet has been disclosed; the breeder withholds the second.

Genetics and Origin:

Several claims circulate about the undisclosed half. A number of descriptions refer only to an unknown, strong indica. The Cookies offshoot in Massachusetts names Nip OG as the second parent, while a product review and another strain description instead cite Nepali OG. Barney's Farm, which sells its own version, lists an indica phenotype of Girl Scout Cookies; as the Sherbet parent, the breeder's US page states Sunset Sherbet, while the European page states Rainbow Sherbet. One strain description puts the indica share at around 70 %.

The London Pound Cake #75 selection is widely available; according to a clone vendor, it was chosen for its appearance, aroma and flavor. Other breeders have also worked with it: Lit Farms crossed it with Red Velvet to create London Loud Cake, and Cannarado Genetics crossed it with its own Zawtz. Cookies itself used London Pound Cake for Candy Rain (with Gelato), Cake Mix (with Wedding Cake) and Blueberry Bubble Gum (with Runtz), and paired it again with Sunset Sherbert for Corn Syrup.

Aroma and Flavor:

Strain descriptions cite berries and grape with lemon, with nuts and vanilla in the background; others add diesel and spice. Cookies co-founder Berner compared the scent to blueberry and cherry pie. The Cookies offshoot in Massachusetts describes the #75 as having gas, blueberry and lemongrass with a cool, menthol-like opening. Of 2 product reviews, one highlights a creamy vanilla and a nutty diesel finish, while the other notes skunk, spice and chocolate mint.

The dominant terpenes are listed as caryophyllene, limonene and myrcene. The terpene manufacturer mentioned earlier found the same 3 terpenes at the top when analyzing flower samples, along with sweet-smelling esters such as isopropyl butyrate and isobutyl hexanoate; it did not publish percentage values.

Effects:

User reports describe an onset of elevated mood and focus, with some describing themselves as giggly or sociable, accompanied by a tingling sensation in the body. Physical relaxation dominates later on. How strongly it sedates is experienced differently: some reports mention drowsiness and pronounced couch-lock, while others describe a contented calm without heavy fatigue. Reported side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes, dizziness and headache; one report described the tingling as unpleasant.

THC Content:

Strain descriptions cite 20 to 29 % THC and note that the value depends on location and growing method.

Cultivation:

For clones of the #75 selection, one vendor states a flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks. Descriptions mention dense buds with orange pistils and abundant trichomes, which can turn purple at cool temperatures. Accounts of growth habit diverge. Barney's Farm describes its own version as compact and bushy with dense side branches, while one strain description refers to tall plants with long side branches that need regular thinning and cope poorly with high humidity.

A grow report from the northeastern United States documents an outdoor plant that had been topped 5 times during the vegetative phase. After the onset of flowering it stretched noticeably and carried 32 unevenly sized flowering branches under a SCROG net.

Versions from Different Breeders:

Seeds do not come from Cookies but from vendors who provide their own figures:

  • Barney's Farm, feminized F1 hybrid: 55 to 65 days of flowering, with around 70 days stated elsewhere on the same page; indoor 650 g/m² at 120 to 150 cm, outdoor 700 g per plant at 150 to 180 cm, harvest in the 2nd to 3rd week of September; 30 % THC. The breeder lists topping, LST and SCROG as suitable.
  • Barney's Farm, London Pound Cake Auto (crossed with BF Super Auto #1): 75 to 80 days from seed to harvest, indoor 550 to 650 g/m² at 90 to 130 cm, outdoor 280 to 350 g per plant, up to 28 % THC.
  • Elite Clone Seed Company, feminized S1 seeds: according to a vendor description, 56 to 63 days of flowering, 400 to 500 g/m² and 20 to 25 % THC.
  • Blimburn Seeds, feminized: 8 to 10 weeks of flowering, 400 to 500 g/m² indoor and 400 to 500 g per plant outdoor, harvest in October, 20 to 25 % THC; the vendor considers the strain suitable for beginners.
  • Premium Cultivars, feminized: 9 to 10 weeks of flowering, 60 % indica share, harvest in October; classified as moderately difficult to grow and sensitive to humidity.
