Consumers in 2018 reported roughly equal shares of THC and CBD for Marmalade, whereas reports from 2019 and 2025 give 27 % THC on the label. The 36 user reports evaluated, 33 of them from the years 2018 to 2026, evidently do not describe the same flower. At least 3 lines with different lineages circulate under the name: a CBD-rich cross from Solstice in the US state of Washington, a cheese hybrid from Lady Sativa Genetics in Great Britain, and a line listed as a clone from Purple City Genetics.
Genetics and Origin:
The line from Solstice, a producer founded in 2011, is the best documented. It traces back to Blueberry Cheesecake and Sour Tsunami; one strain description lists it at 50 % indica and 50 % sativa. An editorial strain profile classes it as a CBD-rich cross with THC and CBD in equal parts and stresses that it turns out unusually aromatic for a CBD strain.
Lady Sativa Genetics, whose roots reach back to 2009 by its own account, crossed an Exodus Cheese clone under the same name with its in-house Orange Diesel V3, ODV3 for short, which in turn is traced back to Original Diesel and Agent Orange. The third line comes from Lemon Tree Skorange and Street Guru. Street Guru is a strain from Purple City Genetics, and several producers state this lineage for their flowers.
THC and CBD Content:
The available figures are label and description statements, not individually published lab measurements. Solstice states 9.78 % THC and 6.92 % CBD for one of its own products. One strain description gives 12 to 23 % THC and 1 to 6 % CBD, another lists 1 % CBG and no CBD value. In the user reports, the label values cited range from 20 % THC with 5 % CBD in a report from 2018 to 27 % THC with no CBD figure. Purple City Genetics states more than 28 % THC for its clone.
Aroma and Flavor:
Honey and fresh berries are described for the Solstice line, alongside orange and a tarry note. Citrus aromas recur in the reports: orange and lemon, in one case with a spicy sharpness and an aftertaste of blueberry. Others describe an earthy skunk smell, cheese with orange or grape, and plum with a finish reminiscent of turpentine. One consumer found the tar taste too strong, another complained about flowers that smelled of hay.
One strain description names myrcene ahead of limonene and caryophyllene as the dominant terpenes, a second puts pinene first, followed by caryophyllene and myrcene. Both sequences come from strain descriptions, not from published analyses.
Effects:
The reports describe a rather activating effect. Elevated mood and euphoria are named, along with creativity and focus with a clear head. Several describe a course that starts out stimulating and shifts into physical relaxation; talkativeness, giggling, tingling and sexual arousal also occur. The report on the Lady Sativa Genetics line departs from this: it describes a heavy body effect that builds over time and associates the flowers with the evening.
Headaches appear in several reports as a side effect, once by the user's own assessment because of too large an amount, along with dry mouth and dry eyes. A single report mentions restlessness and a short duration of effect, another slight light-headedness.
Versions from Different Breeders:
Only Lady Sativa Genetics and Purple City Genetics give cultivation data. Lady Sativa Genetics lists its cross as regular seed for indoor and outdoor, with 55 to 65 days of flowering and small to medium stature. The breeder describes dense, lime-green flowers with a high calyx-to-leaf ratio and an aroma of citrus, orange and fuel with a musty note of overripe fruit. A report from 2020 on flowers of this line grown in Tenerife confirms the dense structure and heavy resin coverage; cheese dominated the smell there, diesel and orange the smoke.
Purple City Genetics classes its line as an indica-dominant hybrid and gives 8 weeks of flowering as well as a high yield without a figure. The breeder sums up the aroma as lemon, chem, candy, fruit and gas. Producers who grow this line name myrcene, alpha-pinene, beta-caryophyllene, linalool and limonene as terpenes and describe orange peel and sweet citrus notes.
