Race Fuel OG

Whether Race Fuel OG keeps people alert or makes them tired is a point on which user reports differ. On the smell they are closer together: diesel and gasoline come first, with citrus, pine or herbs added depending on the report. The strain was bred by Archive Seed Bank, which lists it under the shorter name Race Fuel, from High Octane OG and Face Off OG BX1.

Community Experiences:

Several consumers describe a quick onset that is felt in the head first, with energy, focus and a tingling sensation, and later turns into physical relaxation. Those who use the strain during the day sometimes report a clear head and staying focused at work. Other reports describe a heavy body feeling until falling asleep. A press report from 2018 puts exactly this shift at the centre: silly and euphoric at first, then strongly sedating. Talkativeness and arousal are also mentioned.

Several reports name dry mouth and dry eyes as side effects. Individual consumers describe nervousness, dizziness or headaches, one a strongly racing heart, another irritability once the effects had worn off after 2 to 3 hours. Several reports call the strain strong.

Aroma and Flavor:

According to the breeder's description, Race Fuel smells of diesel exhaust, kerosene and lemon. One strain description assigns the notes to the parents: the diesel smell to High Octane, citrus and pine to Face Off OG. Others add spice, herbs and skunk, one also moss. In user reports, a citrus note emerges from behind the diesel when the flowers are ground; the flavor is described with pine and pepper, earthy tones, umami and a tart acidity, and one report also mentions a metallic aftertaste.

For the terpene profile, strain descriptions list caryophyllene first, followed by myrcene and limonene in varying order.

Genetics and Origin:

High Octane OG is described as a cut of OG Kush; the pedigree on file traces it back to the heirloom cut of OG Kush. Face Off OG BX1 is a backcross: an unknown plant was crossed with Face-Off OG Kush, and the offspring was then crossed again with Face-Off OG Kush. Several descriptions give the pedigree in shortened form as OG Kush × Face Off OG. Strain descriptions put the ratio of indica to sativa at 50 % each. Grow reports using seed from Archive Seed Bank exist from 2015 and 2016.

THC Content:

One strain description gives 22 % THC and 1 % CBG; others put the THC content somewhat lower, some higher. A user report from 2022 gives 23.8 % THC and 2.8 % terpenes for a tested product.

Cultivation:

According to the breeder description on hand, Archive Seed Bank offers Race Fuel only as regular seed; this breeder never released a feminized version. Archive Seed Bank gives the flowering time as 70 days and the yield as above average, and the strain can be grown indoors and outdoors.

A grow report from 2016 describes plants that were densely covered in resin even before week 3 of flowering; another grower summed up the result in 2015 briefly as pure OG character. A press report describes the dried flowers as large, dense and a lighter green than expected, while a strain description calls them fir-shaped and dark olive green with amber-colored hairs. Consumers mention sticky flowers, one also purple coloration.

Versions from Different Breeders:

Besides the original from Archive Seed Bank, there is a feminized Race Fuel OG from Mendocino Farms, whose pedigree is likewise given as Face Off OG × OG Kush. Whether the same genetics are behind it has not been established. For this version, the seed information gives 55 to 65 days of flowering, up to 450 g/m² indoors and up to 450 g per plant outdoors, a medium difficulty level and 19 % THC. By comparison, the regular original from Archive Seed Bank has 70 days of flowering.
