Swiss Indica
also known as Switzerland, Swiss
Swiss Indica refers to indica cannabis native to Switzerland, a landrace with no known breeder; descriptions of aroma and effects differ widely.
Ammonia, plum and blue cheese are the flavor notes one strain description lists for Swiss Indica, while others describe the scent as earthy and pungent with a spicy-sweet undertone. The name does not point to a cross by a specific breeder. It designates cannabis native to Switzerland, that is, a landrace that develops more indica-typical or more sativa-typical traits depending on climate and latitude. Swiss Indica is classified as a pure indica; Switzerland is recorded as another name.
Aroma and Flavor:
The flavor descriptions also mention berries, herbs, sweetness and a chemical note, and one more adds a smoky aftertaste. Yet another characterization combines earthy pine notes with hash-like spice and an occasional hint of citrus. One strain description names caryophyllene as the dominant terpene, followed by limonene and humulene.
Effects:
The descriptions paint two opposing pictures. According to one, the effects begin mildly uplifting and clear-headed, continue with a tingling at the back of the head and end in physical heaviness through to tiredness. Others put energy and creativity first, along with focus. One strain description explains the contrast with two types of the landrace: stocky plants from the valleys, adapted to a cooler climate, with a heavy body effect, and taller-growing phenotypes from sunnier lowlands whose effect is stimulating and, in some plants, has a nervous edge.
Reported side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes, nervousness and brief dizziness.
THC and CBD Content:
One strain description gives 19 % THC and 0 % CBD. Other sources list widely differing values, some considerably higher, some as a very wide range.
Cultivation:
One source describes the landrace as disease-resistant and gives a ripening time of 8 to 9 weeks indoors and a harvest in mid to late October outdoors. Another sets the indoor flowering time considerably shorter.
Community Experiences:
The few user reports are mixed. Some describe euphoria and relaxation with elevated mood, one describes creativity and focus with plenty of energy. Another report describes barely noticeable effects, an unpleasant taste of musty hay, and dry eyes and dry mouth.
