The Soap
also known as Soap
The Soap is a cross of Animal Mints and Kush Mints from Seed Junky Genetics, circulated as a clone-only line and named for its scent reminiscent of hand soap.
The two dated flower analyses of The Soap evaluated for this profile lie far apart: an analysis published in 2024 reported 36.166 % THCA, while a batch from Massachusetts reached 27.79 % in 2026. The cross of Animal Mints and Kush Mints was bred by the US breeder Seed Junky Genetics and became known through Minntz, a joint brand of Seed Junky and Cookies. It owes its name to a scent reminiscent of perfumed hand soap.
Lab Results:
Alongside the THCA, the 2026 measurement reports 24.51 % total THC, 0.46 % CBG and 1.97 % terpenes; CBD was given as 0.00 %. For the 2024 sample, 0.689 % delta-9-THC, 0.899 % CBGA and 2.3 % terpenes were published. The publications do not state which laboratory performed each test. A further, undated lab value from a strain description gives 23.88 % THC, 26.42 % THCA and 0.07 % CBD. Values vary by batch, cultivation and phenotype; a strain description accordingly puts the THC content at a wide 16 to 35 %.
Beta-caryophyllene leads the terpene profile. The undated lab value puts it at 1.14 mg/g as a single measurement, ahead of limonene at 0.44 mg/g and alpha-humulene at 0.25 mg/g. For the 2024 sample, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, linalool and alpha-humulene are named as defining terpenes, without quantities. Other strain descriptions rank caryophyllene ahead of limonene and linalool.
Genetics and Origin:
Animal Mints, itself derived from Animal Cookies and SinMint Cookies, appears twice in the strain, since Kush Mints also descends from Bubba Kush and Animal Mints. A 2023 grow report therefore speaks of a backcross. Several strain descriptions name the selections Animal Mints #9 and Kush Mints #11 as the starting plants. The Soap is listed as a clone-only line; feminized seeds of the original version are not documented.
Classifications differ: some strain descriptions list it as sativa-leaning with a 70 % sativa share, others as predominantly indica-leaning. As a parent it has shaped numerous crosses. Lit Farms combined it with RS11 to make Rainbow Soap and with Velvet Runtz to make Fight Club, and also released Bubble Bath and Black Soap; Stank House comes from Exotic Genetix.
Aroma and Flavor:
Mint, pine needles and rose blossom produce the soapy impression that strain descriptions and consumers agree on. Beneath it, depending on the source, lie cheesy tones, sour citrus fruit, a trace of diesel and a sweet note reminiscent of cake. A 2023 tasting highlighted black pepper and lavender, a 2024 one lavender, rose and jasmine, followed by buttercream and malt in the finish. Individual consumers describe menthol, blue cheese or gassy notes.
Effects:
Consumer reports center on an uplifting, alert effect in the head, combined with focus and a desire to talk or engage in creative activities; sexual arousal is also mentioned repeatedly. Several accounts add a calm relaxation in the body that leaves the mind clear. Other reports paint a heavier picture, with strong grogginess, being stuck on the couch and drowsiness. One consumer, by contrast, found the effect weak, and another attributes the differences to the respective producer.
Reports name dry mouth and dry eyes as unwanted side effects, occasionally restlessness, paranoia and racing thoughts, and in one case stomach complaints.
Cultivation:
The cultivation details come from strain descriptions. They give 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, one of them 8 to 10 weeks, and an outdoor harvest in mid-October in the northern hemisphere. The plant is described as medium-sized and bushy, with sturdy branches and medium spacing between the nodes. How much it stretches after the onset of flowering is assessed differently, at times as pronounced, at times as moderate. The flowers are considered dense and heavily coated in resin, with orange hairs; the green can turn violet to almost black.
A home grow documented in 2023 ran under LED light in coco with perlite and drip irrigation; the harvest was subsequently tested in a lab.
