Three family trees circulate for Watermelon Ice, and none of them leads to a breeder known by name. One strain description names Watermelon and Geist OG as parents, a second speaks of an unspecified combination of fruity hybrids, and a seed vendor lists its version as Watermelon × Ice. The aroma, by contrast, is described consistently: melon with cool menthol.
Genetics and Origin:
Watermelon I.C.E and Watermelon Kush Ice are recorded as aliases. Several descriptions classify the strain as an indica-leaning hybrid; one puts the ratio at 60 % indica and 40 % sativa, while a seed vendor gives 90 % indica for its version. Another description lists Watermelon Ice as a hybrid without any weighting. A review from 2026 calls the question of the two parent strains unresolved.
Aroma and Flavor:
According to one strain description, broken-open flowers smell of fresh melon and black pepper, overlaid by strong menthol; sweet berries join in the flavor. Other descriptions emphasize menthol, mint and sweetness. User reports repeatedly name the menthol note as an aftertaste, alongside sweet watermelon, citrus or herbal notes. One consumer was reminded of fruit chewing gum by the smell.
Visually, long, cone-shaped flowers in a muted green with orange pistils and a dense, amber-tinted trichome layer are described; elsewhere the flowers are called sage-green and heavily frosted. For the terpene profile, one strain description lists limonene first, followed by caryophyllene and humulene.
Effects:
Consumers describe an onset in the head with euphoria, elevated mood and a tendency to giggle. This is followed by physical relaxation, the strength of which is felt differently from case to case. Some reports portray the strain as stimulating and focused, others a growing tiredness; in one review, the initially talkative, silly mood turned into sleepiness over about 2 hours. One report stresses that the strain calms without sedating heavily. Dry eyes, dry mouth, dizziness and, in one report, nervousness are named as side effects.
THC and CBD Content:
One strain description gives 24 % THC and 1 % CBG. The two seed vendors state 18 to 24 % and 23 % THC respectively for their versions; only one gives a CBD value, at 0.1 to 1 %.
Versions from Different Breeders:
Two seed vendors describe feminized versions without naming a breeder. The vendor that presents the cross as Watermelon × Ice states a flowering time of 8 to 9 weeks, yields of 450 to 600 g/m² indoors and 600 to 900 g per plant outdoors, and a height of 100 to 180 cm without distinguishing by location. It rates cultivation as intermediate, names a warm, Mediterranean climate as suitable and points out that the dense flowers are susceptible to spider mites and powdery mildew.
The second vendor names no parent strains. Its figures: 62 to 69 days of flowering, 450 g/m² indoors, 110 cm in height. Whether both versions trace back to the same genetics is not stated in the descriptions.
