Feminized, photoperiod version; cross of Blueberry and Shining Silver Haze according to the breeder.
also known as Blue Dream
Haze Berry from Royal Queen Seeds crosses Blueberry with a Silver Haze line. The aroma is dominated by blueberry, earth and pepper, the growth by tall Sativa stature.
According to Royal Queen Seeds, Haze Berry smells of blueberry, earth and a little pepper, and the breeder traces the flavor mainly to the Blueberry side of the cross. The Haze half shows up more in cultivation: the plants grow tall and carry long, narrow leaves.
The breeder writes that the strain tastes creamy, of blueberry, vanilla and earth with a light spicy note. On the inhale the sweetness of the Blueberry is said to predominate, while herbal Haze notes come through on the exhale. Other strain descriptions add coffee, herbs and citrus, and a consumer report compares the taste to red wine. Grow reports note lemon and vanilla. One strain description names caryophyllene, limonene and linalool as the dominant terpenes, without giving measured values.
Royal Queen Seeds lists a Blueberry from DJ Short and its own Shining Silver Haze as parents. The breeder places Blueberry in the 1970s and 1980s, with Afghani, Thai and Purple Thai in the pedigree; it derives Shining Silver Haze from the Silver Haze of the 1960s. A pedigree overview, by contrast, gives Lemon Skunk and Amnesia Haze as the parents of the latter.
The name of the Haze parent also varies. Texts by the breeder likewise mention Super Silver Haze from the Netherlands, and other strain descriptions give only that name. On its strain page, Royal Queen Seeds puts the Sativa share at 60 %; another reproduction of the breeder's data and other strain descriptions give 80 %.
Consumer reports first describe a euphoric, stimulating phase. Creativity, talkativeness, giggling and concentration are mentioned, in isolated cases also heightened desire. According to these reports, physical relaxation follows while the head stays clear. Grow reports set different emphases and describe a calming, long-lasting effect that can extend to pronounced sluggishness.
Dry mouth, anxiety and paranoia appear as side effects. Royal Queen Seeds itself points out that high doses can trigger feelings of anxiety or paranoia.
The breeder gives up to 20 % THC and rates the CBD content as medium, without a figure. Other strain descriptions give 18 and 20 % THC respectively; one of them additionally lists 10 % CBD, which matches no other source.
For the feminized, photoperiod Haze Berry, Royal Queen Seeds gives 60 to 70 days of flowering on its strain page. Elsewhere the breeder speaks of 9 to 10 weeks, and further reproductions of its data give 9 to 11 weeks. Indoors the plants reach 60 to 100 cm and 525 to 575 g/m² according to the breeder; outdoors they reach 160 to 180 cm and 600 to 650 g per plant, with harvest at the end of October. As a climate requirement the breeder names long summers. It describes the flowers as medium-sized and dense, with plenty of white trichomes; depending on the environment, blue or purple tones can appear. Another strain description points to larger internode spacing.
Grow reports document 62 to 70 days of flowering. The plants grew in a Christmas-tree shape with many side shoots and stretched markedly after the start of flowering, in 2 indoor grows from 30 and 35 cm to 90 and 100 cm respectively. The reports recommend supporting them during flowering with netting or stakes; one plant responded well to topping the main shoot. Hard, compact buds with a good flower-to-leaf ratio, low fertilizer requirement and tolerance of temperature fluctuations are highlighted. One report, by contrast, notes sensitivity to over- or underfeeding, and the statements on susceptibility to mold contradict each other. The grow reports rate the strain as suitable for beginners, one strain description as intermediate. An outdoor grow in Spain was ready to harvest as early as the end of September.
Royal Queen Seeds created the autoflowering Haze Berry Automatic from Haze Berry and Auto Blueberry. One strain description gives 65 % Sativa, 30 % Indica and 5 % Ruderalis for it, plus 13 % THC, 8 to 9 weeks of flowering at 10 to 11 weeks from germination to harvest, 350 to 400 g/m² indoors and 100 to 150 g per plant outdoors.
