Cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Granddaddy Purple, clone-only, original breeder not documented (listed as "Unknown or Legendary").
Monster Cookies
Monster Cookies is considered an indica-dominant cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Granddaddy Purple with a grape aroma; several genetically different versions exist under the name.
Strain descriptions trace the grape note of Monster Cookies back to Granddaddy Purple, one of the two parents; underneath lies an earthy base note, complemented by berries. The other half of the genetics comes from Girl Scout Cookies. Who made the cross is not documented, and the plant is distributed as a clone. Several genetically different strains from other breeders also exist under the same name.
Aroma and Flavor:
When smoked, sweet berries and grape continue, turning earthy on the finish. One description mentions skunk undertones, others cite cookie dough, vanilla, or a spicy, herbal kush note. User reports mention a pungent, fruity smell and smooth smoke.
Genetics and Origin:
For the cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Granddaddy Purple, an indica share of 80% is given. None of the sources reviewed names a breeder. The strain is considered clone-only, meaning it is passed on only through cuttings, and according to one strain description, a genuine cutting is not easy to obtain.
One strain overview lists Cookie Monster as a second name, but under that same name also records a separate cross of Girl Scout Cookies and OG Kush. As a parent, Monster Cookies appears in several newer breeds, such as Atomic Cake by Green Blood Genetics, Gorilla Cookies by Sunset Genetics, and Flying Purple People Eater by Slanted Farms Seed Company.
Effects:
Consumers describe euphoria and an elevated mood at first, followed by spreading physical relaxation that can shift into drowsiness. Not all reports agree: some describe relaxation without strong sedation, a few even mention focus and drive, and one inexperienced consumer found the effect overwhelming. Reported side effects include dry mouth, dry eyes, and dizziness, with occasional feelings of anxiety. Strain descriptions additionally list paranoia and headaches.
THC Content:
Strain descriptions place THC content at 18 to 21%. A sample tested by the Analytical 360 laboratory came in notably lower: according to one strain description, it reached just over 12% THC. This is a single measurement, and no testing year has been recorded. In this sample, the terpenes humulene, caryophyllene, and alpha-pinene stood out. Other descriptions name caryophyllene as the main terpene, followed by limonene and humulene, and in some cases myrcene as well.
Cultivation:
The strain can be grown both indoors and outdoors. Flowering consistently takes 8 to 9 weeks, and outdoors the harvest is expected between late September and early October. The plants stay short and compact, produce plenty of foliage, and form dense, medium-sized buds with a sticky resin coating. Cool temperatures shortly before flowering are said to bring out purple to dark blue tones among the green.
Versions from Different Breeders:
303 Seeds lists a Monster Cookies with a different lineage: Platinum Girl Scout Cookies crossed with Yeti OG from the F1 generation of Loompa Farms. This plant was also distributed only as a clone, and its smell is compared to ginger ale and rye bread. Greenpoint Seeds used it for a series of crosses, including with Lemon G, Bubba, and Gorilla Glue #4.
Master Seeds describes a feminized Monster Cookies from Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdawg with 8 to 9 weeks of flowering, 400 to 550 g/m² indoor yield, a height of 60 to 140 cm, and 20 to 26% THC. The MBA Monster Cookies from the Monster Breeders Association is said, by contrast, to trace back to Durban Poison and OG Kush; 9 to 10 weeks of flowering and 19% THC are given. Fatbush Seeds crossed Monster Cookies with a ruderalis to create a feminized autoflowering version, whose flowering, according to the breeder, takes around 68 days.
