Purple Pie by Stoned Ninja (Dojo Seed Co.) crosses a Girl Scout Cookies in the Key Lime Pie phenotype with Ninja Fruit; violet flowers with a grape aroma are described.

Research as of 10/25/2026

Before founding Dojo Seed Co., the US breeder Stoned Ninja worked at Ocean Grown Seeds. Ninja Fruit traces back to Stoned Ninja, a cross of a Grapefruit Haze mother and a Grape Ape father, now listed under Ocean Grown Seeds. A male Ninja Fruit of the F2bx1 generation was used to pollinate a Girl Scout Cookies in the Key Lime Pie phenotype, and this cross produced Purple Pie. In a podcast episode from February 2024, Stoned Ninja named the strain, alongside Ninja Fruit and Stoned Ninja OG, among the breeder's favorite creations.

Genetics and Origin:

The mother line Key Lime Pie is attributed to Purple Caper Seeds and descends from Girl Scout Cookies, whose pedigree includes OG Kush and an F1 Durban. On the father's side, Grape Ape carries a Granddaddy Purple phenotype; one strain description traces the violet coloration of the flowers to the Ninja Fruit heritage. Purple Pie is classed as an indica-dominant hybrid.

This pedigree is not reported the same way everywhere. One description names only unspecified Purple strains as parents and states that the breeder keeps the origin secret. Another lists Purple Punch and Cookies and Cream as parent strains, yet the description text of the same entry recounts the cross of Key Lime Pie and Ninja Fruit. A documented offspring is Grape Candy by Diamond Rock Genetics, a cross of their Jealousy and Purple Pie.

Aroma and Flavor:

Grape forms the core of the aroma in the descriptions. Earthy and spicy notes accompany it, sometimes with an herbal touch; several descriptions mention hints of diesel, and occasionally a skunky undertone appears. Other sources add berry, a few also blue cheese or apple. In flavor the strain is described as sweet and fruity with a distinct grape note, and the earthy side comes forward on the exhale. Strain descriptions name myrcene and caryophyllene as the dominant terpenes, in part supplemented by limonene, pinene or delta-3-carene.

Effects:

User reports and strain descriptions first describe a euphoric, uplifted mood, followed by pronounced physical relaxation. Several descriptions say this heaviness can go as far as couchlock. Sleepiness and food cravings recur in the reports; individual consumers also mention tingling, creativity or arousal. Not everyone shares the impression of great strength: one report describes the effect as mild and sociable, another reported no typical intoxicated feeling. Some see the pronounced body heaviness more as a drawback.

Dry mouth and dry eyes are named as side effects. One report mentions dizziness after use on an empty stomach, and one strain description additionally lists paranoia.

THC Content:

Strain descriptions give 16 to 24 % THC for Purple Pie. The individual figures contradict each other, however: some sources lie at the lower end of this range, others at the upper end.

Cultivation:

Dojo Seed Co. documents Purple Pie as a regular strain; according to the entry for the Dojo version, a feminized version has never existed. The same entry lists the strain as suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation and gives a flowering time of around 63 days, while another description gives 62 to 69 days. Strain descriptions agree on a moderate difficulty level. The coloration stands out: besides violet flowers, one source describes purple leaves with a dark blue undertone.
